A newest portal addition has landed on the 40 Acres.

Jim Schlossnagle and Max Weiner have added former South Carolina RHP Connor McCreery out of the portal per McCreery's instagram.

In 2024, McCreery racked up a 3–1 record over 22.2 IP in 19 appearances out of the pen. He had 25 strikeouts in those innings and racked up a 4.37 ERA during his time with the Gamecocks.

Blake and I were just talking about that in our text chain. I truly don't know right now. I don't believe Texas is done in the portal, but I don't believe those Friday night guys are still available. Will be interesting as they head into their fall practices who emerges.

We can always count on our weiner to use his arms correctly

Also don’t know about Witt and LBJ, right? 
 

LBJ went 5th rd. Witt went 14th rd. Those guys may or may not come back. I think they could also technically still enter the portal since it hasn’t been 30 days since Pierce left (if that’s the rule).

I would imagine LBJ goes unless the Arm Farm gets to him and convinces him to remain on campus for another year of development.

Witt, at this point, the injury history isn't doing him any favors.

Witt’s father posted on X about him getting drafted and said he’s ready to start his pro career. So I don’t think he’ll be back.

I think Witt needs to go pro. A change of scenery and a fresh start would do him good. He’s given his all for UT and been through some tough times. I wish him the best.

Rockies are a horrible orgnaization for developing talent.   Should look at returning...

The other thing to consider with LBJ is he has already graduated. Sure he could still come back but having a degree makes the decision a lot harder in my opinion. 

Looks like LBJ slotted for $459K.
