First game to attend was TTU 1963.  Texas band day, now long gone.  🙁

Growing up in NM, we don't really have a team to root for in college or the pros. When I was old enough to drive, not legally but we lived on a ranch, my mom let me drive over to my grandma's house by myself for the first time to watch a certain national championship game featuring Texas vs USC. I went into the game not rooting for anyone. When VY ran that TD in on 4th and 5, I was hooked. Literally and figuratively. I will remember that night forever. I've been chasing that feeling ever since!

I just want to say welcome to all the new members who join this place is a blast and the best even if some of the mods are Aggies and sooner fans we still accept them

Think it was 1980.  Texas vs Houston in Austin.  Born a Texas fan.

First in person - 1966 Bluebonnet Bowl at Rice Stadium. Horns rolled over Ole Miss.

Attended the Penn state game in Austin in 1989 and was hooked.  Graduated in 2001.  Have missed one home game in person since 1999. 
 

Bobby is the goat in this industry.  Glad to be here. 

Not new but: from the hometown of James Street, Longview. First memory I have of our Horns was a game on TV , Cotton Bowl game against Roger Staubach and Navy. Many memories, what I feel sorry for the younger folk is their not getting to see Earl play in person.

I was at that game. Boy Scout selling seat backs.  I snuck into the student section around the south 15 yard line and saw that catch from about row 25. Someone threw a full coke straight up in the air and it came down like the exploding lights in The Natural. Pretty sure I still have the game program.

First time in Memorial Stadium I played in the gravel track around the field. During the game. I wasn't really paying attention but there was a Nobis kid wearing #60. Priorities are different when you're in 2nd grade.

Been a member since Bobby started OTF, my first biggest memory was Shea Morentz first started the game for Texas, with Pinkney and Mike Adam tandem

One of the all-time butt-clinching moments I can think of watching a game lol. 

I’ve been here a year or so. Quality writing and just enough wack jobs to make me feel somewhat sane.

First memory of Texas football was in November, 1968. My father and I had gone to my grandfather’s house to watch the game in color. Both Grandpa and my pop were Arkansas fans.  I remember really liking how those guys in white would knock some razorback’s block off, give him a hand up and go back to the huddle. And then do it over and over again. Even at 12, I could see those guys were all tougher than a sack full of hammers. 
Favorite memory from 57 years though is VY’s hands in the air as confetti flies at the Rose Bowl. At least until next January. 

I just recently became a member of OTF on the site but for years now OTF has been my go to podcast to keep up on everything Texas!

my most memorable memory was probably the 2003 season seeing this running back named Cedric Benson run for somewhere around 1,300 yards and 21 tds I think it was. I was only 8 years old but from that point on I bled burnt orange!

The description of chasing that feeling is appropriate. I literally stayed at the stadium until about two hours after the game when the media was done, and then I got back my hotel that night and did not want to go to sleep. I think I finally fell asleep around 9am the next morning,.

What a memory that must have been to be in the stadium. That’s amazing. 

My dad’s favorite team was the Horns because of Royal! He took me to see Earl play in 77 against UofH. Hooked ever since…

Re subscriber here,  long time podcast listener!  I’m from Temple TX, attended Belton high and played football under Coach Shipley at the tail end of his tenure!  Favorite memory is probably the Justin Tucker kick.

I couldn’t sleep either after getting back to the hotel. Watched every report on the tv about the game. It was so surreal!

BTW...Freshman year at Texas. Stonewalling aggy on two point conversion at home to win the game and conference on game ending play, "Shock the Nation" tour 1990. We stormed the field after it ended.
