With Spears Jr. ... he is making a fair # in year one from what I hear. This wasn't a bargain recruitment for Texas. That was Austin Goosby who took half of what BYU was offering to be at Texas. But t

Seems like we have good reason to have a thread to chat on all summer and through the season.    Team workouts begin June 1, I believe

I do think Texas is potentially better at every position (not to start the season at SG), with one distinction ... Texas played two SF's last year and not a traditional 4 man, so they are combined.

I tend to like Texas anywhere in that 6, 7, 8 range more too.

I'm so happy to be in the picture again in hoops. Let's see what happens

All three of these guys said Texas has more NBA talent than any roster in the country. Trotter said if Johnson can be a real point guard, Texas could be like last year's Michigan.

I do think Texas will start 5 NBA draft picks … of course, doesn’t guarantee a FF. So many talented teams

Thing I like about the roster:

Isaiah Johnson - sophomore

Austin Goosby - freshman

Elyjah Freeman - junior

David Punch - junior

Matas Vokietaitis- junior

Mikey Lewis - junior

Amari Evans - sophomore

Bo Ogden - freshman

John Clark - RS freshman

Joe Sterling - freshman

Lewis Obiorha - RS Freshman

Coleman Elkins - freshman

Texas “could” return a number of tremendous players in 2027-28

Oh Lordy. Texas at Louisville. A battle of two of the best rosters in the country built thru the portal. An absolute knock down drag out rock fight. Cant wait.

Hearing Elyjah Freeman's raw talent really catching eyes so far. Very quick second jump, ball handling showing improving signs and can play in the ball screen game

He just needs games. See where he is at the end of this season.

Huge key this summer for Texas basketball …

S&C getting Freeman, Goosby, Isaiah Johnson and Mikey Lewis stronger

And they will …

Hearing Matas is 7% body fat right now

David Punch stays between 245-250 pounds… Will likely play low 240’s by time season starts

First team meeting Sunday

Workouts with staff begin Monday

Seems like many national media people think Lewis is likely to start over Goosby. Is that the feeling in the building or are national people just thinking Lewis is more experienced and therefore likely to start?

That’s more national people thinking Lewis

Goosby has to go take it, but Texas wants that bigger, longer lineup

IMO, Mikey Lewis would be really good as scoring punch 6th man … he’s looked good in individual work thus far I was told. Natural scorer
