Tuesday Night Baseball: Texas vs. UTRGV 

 

 

RHP Sam Cozart will be making his first career start tonight for the Horns against UTRGV.

First pitch is at 6:30 PM.

Cozart hasn't been this excited since he watched Texas win the 1983 College World Series. 

Cozart came in last Tuesday in relief work: 

4 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, and 4 K’s.

Tuesday night games can get funky. OU has had a darn good start to this season.

Arkansas State 8, Arkansas 3 at the top of the 7th.  Maybe it's just the day of the ASUs.  Jonesboro destroying Fayetteville rn

Honestly the Sun Belt may be subpar in other sports but baseball is pretty underrated across the entire conference. 

 Cozart is pitching well through 4 innings.  Thought being a midweek game they would have him on a low pitch count but looks like they are going to try and get him the W.

Robbins 2 out HR in the top of the first. Texas 1-0.

He has thrown 73 pitches thru 4 innings. Not sure how many more pitches, if any, they let him throw.

Cozart went 4 innings last Tuesday against Lamar but only threw 54 pitches.

With wind blowing out and 3 outfield fly out in the 2nd, Sam Cozart had to "Living on the Corners," prioritizing precision over middle-of-the-plate heat to mitigate the wind risk.

Tinney destroyed that ball.
