Question for all,

My girls were not able to get any autographs from the Texas team before or after the games yesterday. We are staying across the street from where they are staying (I’m not going to name the spot) and I was thinking about trying to go over there for breakfast or something and “run into them” if we get lucky. Before I do that, I wanted to run it by the board and make sure that’s not a bad look. They aren’t playing tomorrow and obviously there’s a chance we don’t run into any of them but if so I don’t want to be THAT guy. My girls are just massively excited about being in OKC and just want to get some stuff signed if possible.

I'd first check the WCWS app or fan experience schedule to see if there's availability. Then try UT sports media. The coaches could have them around the stadium to watch a game tomorrow around their practice schedule. They could also have 15 or 20 minutes for fans before practice.

These moments are one of the reasons why I love college sports. They play for the love of the game and the love of their teammates.

The semifinal matchups tomorrow will be Texas vs Tennessee and Texas Tech vs Alabama.  Texas and Texas Tech have to win twice to make it to the national championship series and Tennessee and Bama have to win once to make it.

Anyone watch the Texas Tech and UCLA game?

The automatic stadium sprinklers unexpectedly turned on in the bottom of the 8th inning, causing a hilarious delay on the field.

But the Hidden cameras detailed what actually happened.

Today’s going to be tough and Texas will have to show a ton of fight to have to beat Tennessee twice.  They have two elite pitchers and a third who’s pretty much as good and they are rested.  And their main pitcher throws upper 70s, that’s equivalent to baseball in the 100s with the distance of the softball mound.

Tennessee winning their bracket doesn’t give them some magical +1 life or some “Texas must beat them twice” advantage. If Texas wins our bracket, we’re in the finals. Period.

The ONLY reason anyone has to beat Tennessee twice is because the championship series is a best‑of‑three. That’s it. It has nothing to do with bracket records, nothing to do with Tennessee being “undefeated,” and nothing to do with who’s rested.

Double‑elimination ends the second the finals start. Both teams reset to zero losses. Both teams need two wins.

So no - Texas doesn’t have to beat Tennessee twice to get to the finals. We only have to beat them twice if we want to win the national title, which is literally the same requirement for Tennessee.

Everyone starts even in the finals.
