Brooks & Stroh at Guard???

Featured Replies

Is it me or does 6-7 guys playing guard seem kind of tall?  I just think you need a more low center of gravity guy, 6-3 to 6-4, maybe 6-5 max, 330# wide body road grader.  Yes 6-7 guys with long arms all day at tackles.

Brooks needs to be groomed to take over for Goosby or Baker and we need new SEC quality portal starters at LG, C and RG. Think DT the past two offseasons. We need war daddy’s if we want to go into this Ohio State game in austin in 9 months with a chance to get that monkey off our back.

We need 2 OGs in the portal. Brooks a backup at OT. Kibble some reps in the spring and fall to see if he can be in the rotation at OG. Can Cruz be a backup C that can play if Roberson goes down?

Stroh’s lateral movement in pass protection just isn’t what it needs to be for this level. Unless he’s going north and south in the run game i wouldn’t want him on the field.

I don't think it's too big, but neither of those guys are built for the G spot. Stroh doesn't have that mauler mentality and Brooks does but he's more suited to T than G. I'd assume they'll bring in 3-4 guys on the IOL and we might see some attrition from guys already here.

You don't think either of these guys could man up and lick that G spot?

It’s apparently harder for Flood to find than the C spot.

I don’t think the fan base would be to happy if Stroh and Brooks were our starting guards…😭😭

If that happened, the fan base would make Jan 6 look like a picnic.

Check out the rg and lg starters at penn state. Both  starters and backups are portal eligible. They are familiar with each other and would  be a plug and play situation. Also no head coach yet.

Sarks -Brandon Harris got this covered!  We are taking 3 interior guys !  1 of 3 can play OT in a pinch… all 3 can play center!

Our OL was a f or d grad 1rst 5 games….no ability to give Arch any life in his transition. ( yes he couldnt hit the broadside of barn at times)….

OL never allowed us to lean into run game… giving Arch a breather….nor did we have our full Wr - Te Endries at full steam!

Im thankful for Sarks coaching… his staff…

we simply had no run … and no pass protection w no fully operational Wr  first 6 games!

we are lucky to have Arch and Sark n Staff!

They're not going to be.
You don't go into the NSD press conference and mention the need to sure up the OL in the portal 3 times just for funsies
