SEC Hoops: Texas vs. LSU Game Thread Texas (16-9, 7-5) has won four SEC games in a row, and are now off the NCAA Tournament bubble with the 85-68 win at Missouri Saturday. With a wounded LSU (14-11, 2-10) team in Austin tonight, that means the Longhorns have to continue to take care of business and not stub a toe that could end up costing the costing big come the second weekend in March. A win tonight would also begin to open up real talk possibilities of winning 10 SEC…

Tonight, the Longhorns will take the court needing a win to stay off the NCAA Tournament "First Four" game bubble. SEC race starts now: It's go time The Texas Longhorns will play their first SEC game Saturday against a struggling Mississippi State program. The Longhorns are currently a 38.5 point favorite, after opening -35.5. The league begins its first weekend of five or more SEC matchups with five of the top six ranked teams in the AP Poll: 1. Texas 2. Georgia 4. Alabama 5. Tennessee 6. Ole Miss The SEC game of the week is No. 2 Georgia heading west to take on No. 4 Alabama in a true measuring stick for both teams, and a game that could have an affect on the first 12 team CFP. SEC Rankings after week 1 1. Georgia - beat Marshall 45-7. The SEC’s top dog until they aren’t. Don’t believe they will end up season in top spot, however. 2. LSU - won 17-10 at Clemson. Blake Baker has the defensive talent to run his scheme. Garrett N. was ballin, and LSU has explosive playmaking at a number of positions on O. 3. Texas - lost at Ohio State 14-7. Only surrendering 203 yards and 11 first downs at Ohio State tells one the Horns will be in every game this season. Red zone continues to be booty. Arch will play better, but has to get a lot better to climb the mountain top. 4. Florida - beat Long Island U. 55-0. If their offensive parts re…

What's Ahead During Texas' No. 1 Toughest Ranked Schedule? *** Over the weekend, I was able to connect with an SEC coach to talk the season ahead in 2026. A large portion of the conversation stemmed from the notion that Texas was set to have a very difficult schedule ahead. For some context, this source had been in the conference for a handful of years and has appeared on sidelines for majority of his time in the role he is in currently. But I wanted to share some takeaways from the conversation. Hopefully, for some of y'all fortunate enough to make some of the trips this year to see Texas on the road, this can help set the stage for what the boys in I…
