Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! reported late last night that the four major conference are circulating a draft document to its members that would bind member institutions to new House Settlement rules surrounding NIL and render punishment absolute without legal recourse (i.e. a lawsuit). The SEC Spring Meetings officially kick off tomorrow morning in Destin, Fla. On Texas Football will be there. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian will be speaking to the media at roughly 11am. Other Texas coaches like Sean Miller and Vic Schaeffer are also expected to be in town, as well as athletic director Chris Del Conte. Wanted to share my initial thoughts after meeting and speaking with new Texas basketball coach Sean Miller first in a smaller, semi-private setting and then from sitting front row in the larger auditorium. I think Texas found itself a basketball coach first and foremost. That is not taking a shot at anyone at guys who have come before him. Texas continues to pick up commitments in the 2026 class with the verbal pledge from Prosper punter Mikey Bukauskas. The Longhorns hosted Bukauskas for an official visit over the weekend and come out on top over Clemson, a team that was viewed as the favorite coming into the weekend. I spent most of Wednesday’s practice window open to the media with the offensive line. I’ve read a lot of conjecture about why Texas would add a scholarship quarterback like Troy transfer Matthew Caldwell. Well, it’s actually pretty simple. There are two driving factors. 1. Caldwell, who started the final five games for Troy last year, has lots of playing experience. He makes it a real competition for Trey Owens for the no. 2 QB spot.
