Jaime Ffrench will be in Austin this weekend Texas Longhorns 4-star++ WR commit Jaime Ffrench (Jacksonville, Fla./Mandarin) tells OnTexasFootball that he will be making a visit this weekend for the Kentucky game. Ffrench, who will make this visit alone, will be returning to Texas for the third time this season. The ceremony will take place at Mandarin High at 7:25 a.m. central time on Friday. Ffrench, 6-1 and 185 pounds, will announce out of Texas, Miami, Tennessee and LSU. Cedar Hill defensive lineman Jalen Brewster, one of the state's top prospects, visited Texas a couple of weekends ago despite being committed to Texas Tech at the time. He also visited Florida and LSU. It's expected that Brewster will eventually de-commit from Texas Tech sometime this summer, with LSU being the new front-runner for his services. Texas will continue to monitor and keep in touch with Brewster because they like him that much. But LSU appears to be the winner at this time. Florida is thought to be out of the race entirely.

Jalen Lott: The latest Oregon verbal and 4-star++ wide receiver Jalen Lott (Frisco, Texas/Panther Creek) was back on campus at Texas over the weekend with his mom and dad. The visit wasn't about being at Texas for a game day, or game atmosphere or anything that is key in many recruiting visits. Of all the players Texas is recruiting in the 2026 cycle, Jalen Lott has been on campus and attended games in DKR more than any - and by a good margin. OTF has confirmed West Boca Raton (Fla.) DL Jamar Thompson will be in Austin for an official visit the June 19-21 weekend. Auburn, Miami, and Ohio State are the other schools in the mix. Michigan was previously a contender but got axed in favor of Texas. Thompson's OV schedule: Auburn (May 29-31) Miami (June 5-7) Ohio State (June 12-14) Texas (June 19-21) Kenny Baker and the Longhorns offered Thompson on June 15, 2025 but the OV will be Thompson's first time on campus.

I’m told that Javorskie Lane Jr, son of former Texas A&M standout Javorskie Lane, is transferring to Grapevine High School from OD Wyatt. Yall have asked about him numerous times in the past. I still don’t expect Texas to recruit him at this time. No sense in putting all your eggs in a basket that is 99.9% draft bound.

I traded messages briefly with San Jose State portal CB Jay’Vion Cole following his official visit to Texas this week. John Meredith III Update Wanted to bring the OTF community the latest on 5-star cornerback John Meredith III (Fort Worth/North Crowley) following his visit to Texas late last week. OTF believes Texas is the team to beat. Period. Does that mean it's a for sure for the Longhorns? Not in the NIL era. What OTF also believes is Texas leads Alabama. Those are the top two. Everyone else is distant third and fourth. The near 6-foot-3, 178-pound lock down corner will make his official visit to Alabama the last weekend in May, with Texas the following weekend. Jonah Williams news from Thursday night OnTexasFootball went out to Baytown Thursday night for the Galveston Ball vs. Baytown Sterling game. Ball High won the game 45-0, and Williams did his thing. He scored on a 70+ yard play, had a fumble recovery, made a diving catch on a long post route and was in on several tackles. Apparently an outlet has recently reported that Texas defensive back Jonah Williams was hurt in practice. I've checked with a couple of sources on this and I'm told that Williams is practicing. He did suffer a minor setback last week, but it was not serious. Texas was off yesterday, but he's been a full participant in practice. Jonah is also expected to try and balance both football and baseball this spring. He most likely won't be a full participant in spring football, however.

Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton announced his intent to enter into the transfer portal about an hour ago. Seaton is not officially in the portal yet, so Texas, nor any other team, can have direct contact with him until then. Colorado has 2 business days before it must enter him into the portal.
