The Texas personnel department continued its recent run of pledges yesterday evening by adding Georgetown offensive lineman Kaden Scherer to the fold. Scherer is part of a recent trend for the Horns. Texas, late in the process, is focusing on a mix of players, who seem to have high upside traits but may not be ranked as highly among the recruiting media industry. We live in a world gone mad. I can’t keep up with all the shenanigans going on in college sports. - There’s a rule proposal on the table that a college head coach would essentially be suspended for six games in a season if he takes a transfer player outside of the official transfer portal. The idea here is to stop coaches from circumventing transfer portal rules. Something has to be done. So maybe this is a workable solution. I can confirm that Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has agreed to a contract extension with the Longhorns and is declining NFL interviews. First reported by Brett McMurphy. The talented sophomore from Oradell, N.J., struggled early in spring camp with his weight and conditioning, perhaps due to some lingering medical issues. However, Mitchell finished the spring strong.
