  7. AUSTIN, Texas — The Longhorns have one commitment in 2027 from Atascocita in defensive lineman Jason Johnson, and now have their sights set on the program in 2028 in David Dotson. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound edge rusher took his first look at Texas earlier this summer for Elite Camp, and left with an offer in hand. “The head coach, he gave me an offer today,” Dotson told OTF after working out for the staff on May 31. “I will definitely be back for a home game.” The rising junior worked with UT EDGE coach LaAllan Clark primarily throughout his visit. “I love how they put everything together,” Dotson recalled. “The D-line drills, everything, to get some work in…

  9. AUSTIN, Texas — 2028 four-star running back Micah Rhodes visited Texas three times this spring and reopened his recruitment, decommitting from Oklahoma along the way. The Klein Oak back, a Texas legacy (grandfather Bobby played for the Longhorns), is growing closer and closer to the UT staff. “The love, man,” he said recapping his latest visit on April 18. “Like everybody always says, my grandfather and my grandmother went here. Always getting back here, they showed me a lot of love. Coach JG keeps in contact with my dad, always texting my dad, see what I’m doing, see when’s the next time I can come back up here. I’m happy to do it every time. I love the Texas…

  10. 2029 Willis Quarterback Linc Frazier Talks Return Trip to Texas *** Any time there is a quarterback on campus, it becomes an intriguing story to follow. Texas hosted one quarterback for their sixth spring practice of the spring, and while he is a class of 2029, Linc Frazier has already become a name to know at the position. For the second time in 2026, Frazier made the trip from Willis to Austin for a visit with the staff, and so far, the Longhorns are checking every box. “It was dope today,” Frazier said. “It was more personable because there weren't as many people. Spring practice was run well. Everybody was super cool, super dope and I loved th…

  11. 26 Random Thoughts Ahead of 2026 Training Camp *** We are one day away from being able to watch the Texas Longhorns on the practice field. One day away. If that does not get you pumped up, I don't know what will. As we eagerly await the start of fall camp, I have some thoughts – and takes – I want to get off my chest before the beginning of practice. Some takes will cover Texas, some the SEC and some pure scattershooting takes around all of college football. Let's get to it. *** 26. The projected pass protection for Arch Manning will be remarkably improved from 2025. It is not perfect, and even while we do not know the left guard situa…

  12. Started by CJ Vogel,

3 Stars of the Game vs. UTEP *** Star #1: EDGE Ethan Burke One of the best games of Burke's career as a Longhorn in my eyes. Off of a second watch, Burke was tremendous in run support and continues to improve as a threat rushing the passer. Really impressive game. Star #2: CB Graceson Littleton This was a strong bounce back game for Graceson Littleton following a San Jose State game where he was picked on for 15 targets and seven receptions. Littleton quickly jumped a quick stop route on the outside from the slot position for his first career interception. Littleton was targeted four times for just one catch and two yards. …

  13. Fall camp and football season is right around the corner and with it comes the ever-important senior year for 2027 prospects. With those senior seasons comes ranking risers or droppers, and in this story I picked three Texas commits who I believe have the best chances to rise in the rankings as seniors. (And no, I'm not going to write a story on three commits who have a chance to drop) Pearland Shadow Creek CB Brandon Sherrard IR: 4-star | NATL: 158 | CB: 19 | TX: 21 247: 4-star | NATL: 185 | CB: 20 | TX: 29 On3: 4-star | NATL: 201 | CB: 25 | TX: 25 ESPN: 4-star | NATL: 154 | CB: 19 | TX: 24 Sherrard only played in six games as a junior before sufferi…

  14. Steve Sarkisian's replacement for Tashard Choice wouldn't check as many boxes as the former Texas running backs coach. Still, I think Chad Scott checks enough of them to believe Sarkisian's hiring the West Virginia running backs coach to fill the void is a good move for the Longhorns. Scott is a native of Plant City, Fla., putting his stomping grounds in the middle of the Interstate 4 corridor, which runs from Tampa to Daytona Beach and includes Orlando. Scott has recruited in the Sunshine State and throughout the East Coast as a college assistant, most recently finding success with the recruitment of running back Jaheim White, a product of William Penn High Sch…

  17. 4-star LSU commit in Austin until Sunday OnTexasFootball reported Saturday morning that 4-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez (Gonzales, La./East Ascension) was a "maybe" to visit Texas for the Vanderbilt game. OTF can now report that not only did the 6-foot-6, 305-pounder make it to Austin for the game, but he will remain in Austin and on campus through Sunday afternoon. Texas offered Martinez May 1, 2024 after a Kyle Flood visit and in person evaluation. At the time, the Longhorns worked to get him on campus. But that was an uphill battle with the home state LSU Tigers always a heavy leader. View full news story

  18. 4-star LSU commit Texas visit update Four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez (Gonzales, La./East Ascension) made a 36 hour unofficial visit to Texas over the weekend. In speaking with a source, OnTexasFootball can report that the initial takeaways were that Texas WILL have a shot in the recruitment. What exactly that means, we will hear more about in the next 24 hours. The 6-foot-6, 305-pounder, and a number of LSU commits, are in a tough spot with the early signing period December 3-5. Any LSU pledges having second thoughts could have to work on blind faith in regard to who the next LSU head coach will be, depending on how long the search plays out. …

Clark, 6-9, had a tremendous visit to Texas over the weekend. Clark's entire family made the tip from north of Houston. The university as a whole, everything going on so positively around Texas and Austin, the basketball facility and direction of the athletics program as a whole with the move to the SEC was extremely impressive. Clark made official visits to Texas A&M and Houston prior to Texas. He is scheduled to make a visit to Oklahoma this weekend, and possibly Kansas. The family making three OV's …

  23. 4-star+ OOS DL gives Texas visit rave reviews The Texas Longhorns hosted one of the top defensive line prospects on the board in 2027 the last two days. Sunshine State 4-star+ prospect Tyler Alexander made his first ever visit to Texas Friday and Saturday, and to say he left to return home impressed would be an understatement. "Texas really did their big one on this visit!", Alexander told OnTexasFootball. "The facility is insane. My favorite part is that everything is connected inside the stadium.
