Bang!! The first official visit weekend of June is prosperous for the Texas Longhorns! The Longhorns earn a commitment from Ouchita Parish (La.) DL Dylan Berymon. Alarm bells started going off at OTF when we heard Berymon was expected to bring double digit number of family members on his official visit this weekend and sure enough, a commitment comes as a result of his trip to Austin. The 6-foot-1-inch, 310-pound interior defensive lineman is a rock on the inside of a defensive line. Berymon has a very similar build to that of current Longhorn Cole Brevard, which gives credence to why Purdue was so heavily involved in this recruitment as well. Texas ge…

Bang!! The Longhorns are back on the board in the 2026 class with the commitment of Willis CB Jermaine Bishop! A huge win for the Longhorns with one of the freakiest athletes in the state of Texas opting to join the 2026 class. This is the second commitment for the Longhorns in a week span, both of which coming in the defense backfield as Bishop joins Edna Karr CB Hayward Howard jr. Texas hosted Bishop multiple times this semester, including his most recent trip to Austin for the Texas fan fest day on April 26. Hook ‘Em! Texas is back on the board with its third commitment of the month of July with the verbal pledge from 2025 North Crowley LB Jonathan Cunningham. The Longhorns beat out TCU and Utah for the 6-foot-2 linebacker. After offering back in February, the Longhorns quickly ascended to the top of Cunningham’s recruitment. TCU and the Utes made this very close towards the end, however, Texas and Johnny Nansen came away victorious. LB Rocky Cummings Flips to Texas *** Another one! The third flip commit of the week for the Texas Longhorns comes on Thanksgiving Eve from 2026 Carlsbad (Calif.) LB Rocky Cummings. Cummings was offered two weeks ago and very quickly scheduled his official visit for the Longhorns this past weekend against Arkansas. Listed at 6–4 and 220 pounds, Cummings looks every bit of that after seeing him arrive for his OV. Summer is officially here and the trail is getting hot! Texas has earned a commitment from 2025 St. Ignatius College Prep OL John Mills. Kyle Flood comes away with a huge victory off the west coast with the addition of Mills, beating out Washington as the largest competitor. Mills has the length and size to play the tackle position at the next level, but is best suited in my eyes to move to the interior. Regardless, the versatility provides a lot to like as Texas continues to win big on the offensive line. An early Flipmas gift! Texas has flipped 2026 Portage Central (MN) tight end Charlie Jilek from Minnesota! A quiet process behind the scenes comes to light as the Longhorns steal away a future B1G tight end to add to their 2026 class. Jilek had been committed to Minnesota since October 1st. The 6-foot-5-inch tight end holds offers from UCF, Minnesota, and nine others. Texas has a loaded room at the tight end position and is expecting a departure of Spencer Shannon following his senior season. Texas Signs Wake Forest WR Sterling Berkhalter *** Portal work doesn’t stop! The Texas Longhorns have signed former Wake Forest WR Sterling Berkhalter out of the portal after a visit to campus on Thursday. Berkhalter will be entering his sixth season of college football after receiving a medical waiver earlier in the week. Berkhalter is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and originally spent his first two seasons of college at North Carolina A&T. He was inactive in 2023 in his first year at Cincinnati. Cleveland becomes the third defensive lineman to commit to the Longhorns in the 2026 cycle, joining Corey Wells and Dylan Berymon – all three of which are out of state and from SEC territory. Hoops report: Early returns The Texas Longhorns 2024-25 team has reported to Austin, and is in the gym daily. OTF picked up some early thoughts and returns around the program in the last 24 hours. Jayson Kent has been mentioned early on as an impressive pick up. Both physically (from a strength of frame stand point) and really knowing how to play the game. The "knowing how to play the game" is a theme around the program. Texas feels like Tre Johnson and the portal additions are going to be a better "know how to play" team this year.
