Momentum continues! Texas adds five more stars to its 2025 recruiting class with the huge addition of WR Jaime Ffrench out of Mandarin, Florida. The Longhorns come away victoriously and hold onto what had been a solid lead dating back to the summer official visit period. Bo Mascoe Commits to Texas *** Hook ‘Em! Texas and former Rutgers cornerback Bo Mascoe have reached an agreement out of the portal. Mascoe is an incoming senior who was an All-B1G Honorable Mention by the coaches and the media in 2025. Mascoe started all 12 games for the Scarlet Knights and recorded an interception, two forced fumbles and six pass defenses. That's a big human added to the portal class! Texas lands former North Carolina DL Travis Shaw out of the transfer portal, first reported by Matt Zenitz. Shaw, who is 6-5, 335 pounds, played all 13 games for North Carolina this season and has seen over 600 snaps in the three years at Chapel Hill. This time, it comes in the form of former LSU defensive lineman Zion Williams committing to the Texas Longhorns. The former Lufkin star entered the portal earlier in the week with a Do Not Contact designation to his portal entry and immediately appeared on campus in Austin. Texas is back on the board on the offensive line! Former Wake Forest offensive tackle Melvin Siani has signed with the Longhorns. Siani spent 2025 at Wake Forest after two years at Temple. He spent 858 snaps at the left tackle position with Demon Deacons in 2025. This past season, Siani posted an 80.7 pass protection grade according to PFF and did not allow a sack the entire season. Siani is listed at 6-foot-6 and 302 pounds. In his career, he has 1577 snaps at the D1 level as well. Siani becomes the third offensive lineman signed by the Longhorns during the portal window, joining Jonte Newman from Texas A&M and Dylan Sikorski from Oregon State. …

Straight from the Boot! Texas adds to its 2026 class with a commitment from CB Hayward Howard Jr. out of Edna Karr High School in Louisiana. Howard made his commitment official in a ceremony of his high school gymnasium Friday afternoon. The Longhorns hosted Howard Jr. for an unofficial visit on April 12 where he and the family were blown away on the visit. I spoke briefly with a family member on the trip who said it was the best campus visit they had been on since the recruitment started. A 380-pound BOOM! Arkansas nose tackle Ian Geffrard has committed to Texas following his two-day visit to Austin. Geffrard recorded 463 snaps for the Razorbacks in 2025, and recorded 18 tackles and 8 pressures on the quarterback. He becomes the first commit of the 2026 portal window and the first defensive player to commit to Will Muschamp. Geffrard fills an interior defensive line spot for the Longhorns who will certainly remain in the market to stack talented big bodies on the defensive side of the rock. View full news story

Bouwmeester wrapped up his visit to Austin Friday morning and did so with a bang. The 2x all-conference punter has made his decision and he will be joining Jeff Banks and Steve Sarkisian in Austin, Texas. Bouwmeester averaged 44.9 yards per punt in 2024 at Utah. Western Kentucky OG Laurence Seymore Signs With Texas *** Texas has found a guard.* I repeat, Texas has found a guard!* Former Western Kentucky OG Laurence Seymore has signed with Texas according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports. The catch, and what we at OTF had been skeptical of was his eligibility. Seymore had a redshirt season in 2021, appearing in just two games for the Miami Hurricanes. The next year, he appeared in six games, and made two starts. Where things get interesting is in 2023, where Seymore did not play in a single game, but had already exhausted his redshirt. Former Oregon State OL Dylan Sikorski Signs With Texas *** Texas adds its first offensive lineman of the 2026 portal window! Former Oregon State guard Dylan Sikorski has committed to the Longhorns following a two-day visit in Austin. Sikorski started six games for the Beavers in 2025, amassing 444 snaps and playing in a total of eight games. The redshirt freshman has three years of eligibility remaining and is currently listed at 6-foot-4 and 332 pounds. He will compete for a spot at guard in 2026. That didn't take long! Texas has earned a commitment from San Jose State portal CB Jay'Vion Cole. Cole was on campus this weekend for an official visit and quickly made enough of an impact to earn his commitment. Cole was scheduled to visit Auburn next week, though the staff did enough to get him to shut things down this weekend and now the Longhorns have found an answer for the departures of Terrance Brooks and Austin Jordan. From The Boot to The 40! Texas adds to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of RB James Simon out of Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, LA. Simon becomes the second running back in the class joining Rickey Stewart of Chapel Hill in Tyler, Texas. Tashard Choice continues his hot recruiting streak that has been a staple of his tenure here at Texas. The 5-foot-11 and 200-pound running back has the frame that will allow him to carry 220 at some point in his college career. Simon possesses great footwork in the hole with an impressive ability to jump cut to daylight. As a junior in 2023, Simon ran for 1600 yards and 21 touchdowns on 8.1 yards …

The portal flood gates are open and the Longhorns are benefitting already. Texas is expected to land former Purdue DL Cole Brevard out of the portal after a trip to campus this week. Brevard is a 330-pound defensive lineman who started for Purdue for the past two seasons. 2026 RB Jett Walker Flips to Texas *** Texas is on the board with a commitment from 2026 Georgetown RB Jett Walker. Walker was on campus for an official visit over the weekend, and the news of his commitment comes shortly after returning home to Georgetown. The 6-foot-2 running back comes in around 210 pounds, and a very lengthy highlight tape. Walker averaged 10.3 yards per carry as a junior and has been a do it all back once again in 2025. 2026 CB Toray Davis Flips to Texas From UCLA *** The Longhorns continue their Flipmas holiday spectacular with a flip of Fairview, CO CB Toray Davis. Davis was on campus recently for an official visit and the Longhorns were able to secure the deal with a commitment Tuesday evening. Texas now sits with four defensive backs in the class as Davis joins Smoke Matthews, Hayward Howard Jr. and Yaheim Riley. What a win for the Longhorns in the portal. Texas has flipped former Louisville DL Jermayne Lole from his commitment from Oklahoma. Lole has instead committed to the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns continue to add to their defensive line room as Lole becomes the third addition to this room, joining Bill Norton and Tia Savea. Lole is sixth year senior who spent three years at Arizona State before spending 2023 at Louisville. Two seasons were lost to injury. The Texas Longhorns have secured their first defensive line portaler of the spring and their second of the offseason. Bill Norton, formerly of Arizona by way of Georgia, has committed to Texas following a weekend visit for the spring game. Norton entered the portal April 13 and immediately took interest in the Longhorns. That didn't take long! The Texas Longhorns have their new kicker with the commitment of former Texas State K Mason Shipley. Texas hosted Shipley on campus this afternoon and quickly get the deal done. Shipley had previously been at Oklahoma and had been courted by a number of other programs. Spence was on campus in Austin this weekend and it didn't take long for the job to get done. Spence had 27 tackles and 4.5 sacks for the Razorbacks this past season, including seven tackles and a sack against Texas.
