AUSTIN, Texas — Longhorns center Matas Vokietaitis is expected to return to Texas in 2026, OTF has learned. Draft Express' Jonathan Givony first reported the news. The 7-foot big man has opted to stay with the Longhorns after his play, particularly late in the season, had suitors chomping at the bit for the Lithuanian native to enter the transfer portal. Instead, Vokietaitis is staying put, which was his preference all along. Vokietaitis came to Texas last offseason after a standout freshman campaign at FAU, which earned him AAC Freshman of the Year honors. Jaime Ffrench: Decision Countdown Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin wide receiver Jaime Ffrench is set to announce his commitment in 24 hours. The ceremony will take place at Mandarin High at 7:25 a.m. central time on Friday. Ffrench, 6-1 and 185 pounds, will announce out of Texas, Miami, Tennessee and LSU. The Texas Longhorns have been trending in this recruitment since an unofficial visit in the spring with his parents. OnTexasFootball can confirm the move made by Steve Sarkisian to hire Rutgers CB Coach Mark Orphey to the Texas staff, first reported by OrangeBloods. Orphey has been the corners coach at Rutgers for the last three seasons, earning a raise in 2023. Previously at Montana State, Orphey coached four players to all-conference honors in the Big Sky Conference. Norval McKenzie is a name to know in the Longhorns' RB Coach search. McKenzie is currently the running backs coach and run-game coordinator at Georgia Tech. He had previous stops at Vanderbilt (2021-2022), Louisville (2019-2020) and spent three seasons prior at Arkansas State (2016-2018) as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator.
