On Texas Football's Top 25 Players of the Modern Era (1992-Present)
All those guys make perfect sense. But I have to give a tip of the hat to Peter Gardere. He is the only QB from either Texas or Oklahoma to have beaten the other team four straight seasons. In each of those four seasons OU was ranked and Texas wasn't. Results count.

OTF Sideline Debate: If Texas had to pick a sponsor jersey patch, who would you go with and why?
I say no sponsors. We’ve survived over 100 years w/o a sponsors and another 100+ years without one suits me just fine.

Notre Dame series, future Texas non-conference games in limbo due to CFP unknowns
I agree with you. I would add that the playoff committee has taken strength of schedule into account in some fashion, even though we can’t decipher what the criteria is. Take Baylor’s 2014 team. They opened with a 45-0 win over SMU, followed by a 70-6 win over NWST in week 2. I week 3 they won 63-21 over Buffalo. They later beat UT 28-7 and beat TCU, the league’s co-champion 61-58. Overall they finished 11-1. But the committee, citing SOS, deemed that Baylor should not be included in the top four even though the top four included three one loss teams (Alabama, Oregon, and Ohio State) and an undefeated FSU team. So the committee somehow did factor in SOS. I think the real issue is clarity of the SOS, and how it is weighted in the overall analysis. I would really hate to see losing the thrill of in-season marquee intersectional match-ups because the SOS is inconsistent and opaque.

What the Will Muschamp hire means for Texas and Steve Sarkisian in 2026
Most of us were pleased with Pete, and that is why everyone was so surprised by his firing. But, Pete had a bad 2021 season, prompting Sark to bring in Gary Patterson for Pete to consult with during the 2022 season. Following the lessons that Patterson delivered, Pete's level of coaching skyrocketed. Now Will will have to do what it takes to bring Kirby down a few notches.

Snap Judgments: Another showdown with Georgia, another humbling loss for Texas
The Texas defense has given up 38 point to Mississippi State, 31 to Vanderbilt, and now 35 to Georgia (not to mention 29 against Florida). Can anyone actually tell me that we have a good defense? I present these numbers to justify my position.

Texas is determined to 'go up and be consistent' heading into the Kentucky game
Covington, KY is directly across the river from Cincinnati.

DeAndre Moore Jr.'s return from injury has injected Texas with confidence, energy on offense
Moore is a good blocker and a key reason why the dink passes behind the line of scrimmage went for good yardage last year.

The Texas offense isn't broken, but right now, the Longhorns are bad
Should we start standing in line to get tickets for the Houston Bowl?

What Steve Sarkisian liked, what Texas must fix coming out of loss to Ohio State
Five years ago, we would not have had the players to compete in this game. Credit Sark for recruiting elite talent to put us in position to win. Execution and communication were critical and were unfortunately missing. Go Horns.

Thoughts on what happened to No. 1 Texas in a 14-7, season-opening loss to No. 3 Ohio State
How can two different players put their hands into an opposing player’s face mask? Don’t they know it will cost 15 yards? The first changed a sure OSU punt into a touchdown drive. The second wiped out a safety. Eight points from mental errors on the defense that otherwise played well. We’ve simply become accustomed to false starts by the offensive line, but they keep happening. Maybe start thinking a little out there. Sorry for ragging these guys out. I think we have a promising season ahead. Our expectations were oversized in part due to our listening to hometown media pundits.

Texas might be stuck on the wrong side of the NCAA Tournament bubble after an 83-67 home loss to Georgia
All these guys who just had to get rid of Coach Beard should assume some responsibility for this fiasco.

Hoops: Texas vs. No. 2 Alabama Game Thread
It all starts with recruiting. We do fantastic with Tre Johnson. But who else. The portal gave us so-so players. With a team made up of transfers and a freshman, you have a recipe for a mediocre team. With this record and the same coach, what HS stars will want to come here if they expect to play for a winner?
