There are only two recruits in the class of 2025 who are currently uncommitted that Texas continues to pursue: San Antonio Alamo Heights athlete Michael Terry and linebacker Madden Faraimo from Southern California. The rest are all currently committed elsewhere. We’ll see if that holds true. ** The Horns, of course, are hoping for a pledge from Libertyville, Ill., tight end Brock Williams on Friday. Williams is slated to announce his decision on the Pat McAfee show at 12:15 CT. Williams totaled 44 catches for 596 yards and 13 TDs in just 10 games as a junior. Pregnon, who is 6-foot-5, 320 pounds, has started for two years for the Trojans and was named second team All-Big 10 this past season. Pregnon visited Texas over the weekend. The Texas offense currently can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. That much is clear. So every time I think it might be because of a lack of offensive ingenuity, I remember that this team can’t do the basics very well. Arch inexplicably fumbles a snap in the red zone. Given all of that, how is Sark going to be comfortable calling something that requires more finesse? This is not all on Arch though. The blocking in the red zone remains leaky at best, especially on the right side. Perimeter blocking is still an issue, as are penalties, as are running backs missing running lanes. The offense is dysfunctional. How does Texas manage that? …

Amid the six starters on defense who had already opted out of the bowl game, it’s perhaps the seventh that will have the biggest effect. The loss of linebacker Liona Lefau, at least as it relates to potentially defeating Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, could be tough to overcome. Lefau is a between-the-tackles run-stopper, and that’s exactly where the Wolverines try to make their hay. There’s also the lack of depth at linebacker to consider. Another one! Texas adds to its 2026 portal class with veteran linebacker Justin Cryer from Florida State! Cryer was a three year contributor in Tallahassee, totaling 86 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception over those seasons. In 2025, Cryer racked up 43 tackles as well and was an eight game starter.
