Joining the Texas duo were some top collegiate athletes from across the country. On hand coaching the edge players that included Simmons, Jackson, Ole Miss freshman Landon Barnes, and Texas A&M freshman Bryce Perry-Wright was renowned player development and pass rush specialist Brandon Tucker (Trenchwarfare). The SEC has set the kickoff time for the Longhorns' trip to The Swamp on October 4th. Texas and Florida will begin their contest at 2:30 p.m. CT. In regards to the trip to Gainesville, Sarkisian is aware of the challenge The Swamp will pose, and will begin the game prep this week. "Going to The Swamp, there's people who would argue it's the toughest place to play in the country," Sarkisian said Monday during his weekly press conference. All things considered, yesterday was a pretty darn good day for Longhorn fans. Xavier Worthy scored the first two touchdowns ever by a Longhorn in a Super Bowl, while also leading all receivers in catches (8) and yardage (157). Granted, it was in a losing effort. Interior offensive lineman Keyon Hemphill-Woods will announce his commitment on Friday, April 10, at 6p.m. CT. The Columbus (Texas) product will choose between Auburn, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. The Longhorns offered the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder on the first day of spring ball last month. Texas added its first offensive line commitment last week in Austin Westlake's Jackson Cook, also an interior offensive lineman. Texas SEC basketball schedule released: It's a doozy The Texas Longhorns football program received a favorable year one schedule. The basketball team did not. The SEC released the conference slate for the 2024-25 season Tuesday, and Rodney Terry and staff have a scheduled that includes nine opponents that are in Joe Lunardi's ESPN Bracketology from July 31. Texas plays two of those opponents (Texas A&M and Arkansas) twice as well. Texas begins SEC play with an extremely difficult five game stretch. The SEC opener is at Texas A&M January 4. Not sure if you're counting, but today marks 47 days until the Longhorns take the field against Colorado State and another 54 for the tilt against Michigan. As Texas’ commits continue inching closer to their senior seasons, OTF provides one thing I’d like to see from each offensive Texas commit as seniors. Ty Knutson, QB, Smithson Valley — Knutson plays for one of the state’s top programs and is rarely tested in the regular season or the first few rounds of the playoff. For the second time in less than two months, Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon defensive lineman Kasi Currie travelled to Texas to check in with the Longhorns, this time for spring practice. “It was great,” Currie told OTF. “The energy was high. The intensity. Really just getting to watch Richard Wesley play. It was really great watching him. Four-star cornerback Dhillon McGee out of Red Oak (Texas) will announce his commitment on June 25, he confirmed on Tuesday morning. The finalists are Texas, Penn State, and SMU. McGee will officially visit Austin June 19-21, meaning the Longhorns will have the last crack at the in-state cornerback during OV season. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound McGee recorded 31 tackles and 15 pass breakups last during his junior season. Texas has one defensive back committed thus far in Karnell "Greedy" James.
