Even amid a national election, yesterday was a fairly normal Tuesday for us at On Texas Football. Until the early afternoon. Things changed in a blink of an eye for our Blake Munroe and his wife Krista. The staff at On Texas Football received a quick text from Blake. Their oldest son, Colt, was at football practice. He went over the middle to catch a pass. He was tackled, a normal tackle. But Colt writhed in pain and was taken to the nearest ER. Blake was with him. But the story didn’t end there. Texas DB commit Zelus Hicks has reclassified to the 2025 cycle. Our Gerry Hamilton had hinted at this move for a couple of months now and a month prior to signing day, it comes to fruition. The Longhorns will need to hold onto Hicks' pledge for one final month here. Hicks of course was at Tennessee over the weekend so the race isn't entirely over. Texas has four games remaining in their regular season and for the month of November, it will be full steam ahead. No more bye weeks, no more time for rest. The bye week is great for a few reasons. First and foremost, the rest and recovery aspect for guys like Isaiah Bond and Andrew Mukuba allows for the Longhorns to return back to full strength. But more than that, the bye week allows for the coaching staff to focus in on younger players who are not a big part of the weekly on-field product.
