We’re roughly a week away from recruiting being full blown. The Texas June Elite Camp for underclassmen is becoming the singular stop for most of the state’s best 2026 recruits. Then we have three weekends back-to-back-to-back official visits with at least 44 official visits scheduled. ** Some of the key questions we’re monitoring for the next few weeks: 1. Does Steve Sarkisian attempt to go hard for one of the young signal callers following the June Elite Camp? Either Troy Huhn or Dia Bell? 2. Four-star++ LB target locks in Texas OV Marietta (Ga.) Kell linebacker Brayden Rouse will make an official visit to Texas June 13-15 coming on the heels of last weekends unofficial visit. Johnny Nansen and Kenny Baker were by Kell High in January, and have worked diligently to get the Longhorns in position for the long-limbed athletic outside 'backer. Two weeks ago, we mentioned that star wide receiver Ryan Wingo would be out for spring because of a hamstring injury. Last week, we learned that potential starting tight end Jordan Washington would be out for a while, a note which Steve Sarkisian confirmed at his press availability earlier today. After landing today’s commitment from Gilmer five-star OT Ismael Camara, Texas now has five offensive line commitments in the 2027 cycle. I believe it’s the best OL haul Texas has landed since the 2022 group, which set the foundation for the ascension of the program under Steve Sarkisian. As many of you know, Xavier Worthy had the drops in the latter half 2022. Well, I was the first media person to tell folks after the season that he had a broken hand during that time frame. Where the 2025 No. 1 ranked class stands headed into the 2026 season The Texas Longhorns No. 1 ranked 2025 class is heading into year two on the Forty Acres. The class of 25 signees is down to 20 remaining in the program after five transferred out following the 2025 season. Of the 20, at least three will be starters headed into year two, and six or seven will be second team. Of the eight players listed as "depth" entering year two, there are multiple that the staff believes could be starter level players with NFL draft pick potential after another season of development. As CJ Vogel reported yesterday, Texas has had preliminary contact with Converse Judson defensive lineman Johnny Bowens. Bowens originally chose Oregon over Texas and Texas A&M in the class of 2023 and spent the fall of '23 and spring of '24 in Eugene before entering the transfer portal. So where does Texas sit in this recruitment?
