On Texas Football Forum

A place where fellow Longhorns can discuss Texas Football, Sports and Recruiting with one another and the staff of On Texas Football.

  1. Coming off a 91-80 road loss to Georgia on Saturday, Texas returns to action against No. 7 Florida at Moody Center on Wednesday (6 p.m., ESPN2). Sean Miller is holding a media availability today to discuss the loss to the Bulldogs, tomorrow’s game against the Gators and the state of affairs as the Longhorns look to improve their standing for an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament. As of Monday, Texas (17-10, 8-6 SEC) remained on the right side of the bubble, with the Longhorns one of 11 SEC clubs projected to be in the field of 68, according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi. While the loss to Georgia snapped a five-game winning streak, Texas will attempt to get back on tra…

  2. AUSTIN, Texas — Jonah Williams punctuated his first series of the 2026 baseball season by taking a chance that had Jim Schlossnagle, Steve Sarkisian and anyone else with a stake in the two-sport standout’s future on the Forty Acres holding their breath. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning of Sunday’s 4-0 win over Michigan State at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, Williams popped the first pitch he saw from reliever Brady Chambers into left field. When center fielder Trent Rice lost track of the ball, allowing it to fall to the turf for a base hit, Williams bolted for second base. A late-season shoulder injury while suiting up as a safety for the football tea…

  5. Interesting quotes about Cam “It felt like he was never coming here. I wasn’t really worried about him because it almost felt like a waste of time. Ultimately, he wanted to play where there was a more established quarterback situation.” . “It didn’t really get that crazy; he was going to Texas the whole time,” they said. “I think he was using us to get the price up at UT, which I’m fine with.” .

  6. AUSTIN, Texas — Carson Tinney transferred to Texas from Notre Dame, where he established himself as one of the top collegiate catchers in the country. A finalist for the 2025 Buster Posey Award, which honors college baseball’s top catcher, Tinney has the presence and skills behind the plate to help a pitching staff maximize its potential. Seven games into the 2026 season, Tinney and the Longhorn pitchers are propping each other up, staking their claim to be labeled the nation’s top battery. Asked how he’d rate the arms on pitching coach Max Weiner’s staff, Tinney said with a smile plastered on his face that it’s been “fun to catch” a group of hurlers that’s coll…

Guys I know he didn’t go here but, at one point in time he was going to be a Longhorn. However, over the weekend he took his life so I would still like to say rest in peace Rondale and wish his family all the best. I also want everyone here to also be aware of mental health cause it’s a real thing and it happens to all of us being down in our minds. Just be mindful of everyone we don’t know what each other have going on in our lives and the smallest thing can set off the biggest chain reaction. You guys are the best and hope all is having a fantastic Monday.

  11. Seeing if anyone knows if there will be another "A Night For Texas" event held this year. I have not seen any information on it but last year the advertising/website wasn't the easiest to navigate from the OneFund home page. Hook'em!

  12. Dylan Volantis is on the mound with the Longhorns going for a series sweep of the Spartans and a 7-0 start.

  13. Steve Sarkisian is scheduled to meet with reporters for a media availability on Monday. It’ll be the first time Sarkisian has fielded questions in such a forum since the Longhorns ended the 2025 season with a 41-27 win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Whether it’s how the organization navigated the highs and lows of the transfer portal window, several Texas players (including Arch Manning) undergoing surgery or Blake Gideon returning to the Forty Acres, a lot has happened since the Longhorns dispatched the Wolverines to wrap up a 10-3 campaign. Here are five questions for Sarkisian that will set the tone for the start of spring practice on Mar…

  15. @Gerry Hamilton @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel @Jeff Howe Always wanted to ask this question on the shows but felt like it would take to long for answers from all of you. But anyways here it goes who's your all time starters on offense and defense for longhorn football!

  16. Congrats to the Women’s & Men’s for easily winning the SEC Swimming & Diving Championships.

  17. Saw the Vikings post on his passing. He was always a dude that I regret not getting to campus. He broke out his freshman year at Purdue on a national level with highlights.... Talk about tough to do at Purdue. Then he was able to make it to the league and was sticking around and had the tools to break through. Sorry to hear this news and thoughts and prayers to his family.

Great time for Whisenton. His highlights showed a great back with good size and contact balance. Combine that with track speed and this guy could really be a top rb.
