Thread | Keeping Tabs on the Ohio State QB Battle (Saturday)
Well, I don't recall them picking up any dudes in the portal for the OL, but they usually recruit OL really well. But that is actually a good question. Does anyone return from last years starting 5 for them? I know we're replacing 4 guys, but 2 of the 4 have starting experience and one other is going on year 4 in the program. So I'm pretty confident in our guys.

About That Texas Defense… (Saturday PM)
I'm not worried about the DB's. Tons of talent waiting in the wings for their chance to get a spot. McDonald, Guilbeau have experience. Muhammed is that guy. Taaffe is our boy. Now they just need to pair with someone at S. I'm certain Williams will earn his way back, but I think there's a few guys there that could push in (one being McDonald) and the other likely Filsaime. Can't forget a guy like Black at CB. Most of these guys have some experience and I think we'll be fine. But that's just my burnt orange glasses on take, lol.

You gunna get your socks knocked off, your lunch money stole and be happy about it. This D going to cause teams nightmares.

Noteworthy Ohio State camp news (QB battle, DT injury, etc)
That's fair, I didn't follow his recruitment that closely. In fact I try to stay out of recruiting because it can be very hard to keep up with lol. In saying that about his size, the guy we got doesn't seem that big and he seemed to be split out a lot at Cal. I think Endries is like 6'4 237?

Yeah, see that makes a lot of sense right there. I remembered it had something to do with the more than just money. Sometimes being closer to family is more important.

Noteworthy Ohio State camp news (QB battle, DT injury, etc)
Honestly? Yeah. This is what I've been saying. They'll still be a tough out at their place but they're not even close to the same squad they were last year. It's why I was confused the TE picked there over Texas. Not even sure that was a money thing either.

CBS Sports predicts Texas first loss of the season comes to…
Fair call, I still think we'll be fine.

CBS Sports predicts Texas first loss of the season comes to…
Lagway is great, but he isn't single handily beating Texas. I think our D is too good for him to handle on his own. Now they have a really good RB, too, so that might help some. Guess we'll find out when the time comes.

CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
Now THAT is doubtful. What is the point of playing 6-7 weeks in. If he's ready to play, give him some reps. I doubt we see him week 1 but some of those "lesser" teams where you might blow them out, he'll likely get some back up reps. If you're going to wait that long to play him, you might as well just red shirt him and call it a season.

CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
Maybe, we'll see how he holds up during fall camp. Problem is the guys ahead of him are healthy and raring to go. Wisner, Clark and Gibson is a good rotation of backs to have. Throw in Baxter when he's ready and it's a great room to have.

CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
Sure and as I said, they'll work him in slowly. See how he pulls up in training, etc. I think we're pretty much in agreement, so I'm confused why we're going back and forth here lol.
-
CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
Not really. He'll get touches, but it won't be much. He seems to be moving pretty good. But he's not getting 20 carries a game yet, that's for sure. You ease him back into it. Maybe if a game is a blow out, he'll get some reps. I'm not sure he has enough juice to surpass Wisner, Clark or Gibson at the moment.

Steve Sarkisian Media Availability: Day 1 of Fall Camp
I'm so ready to see him not only get more snaps but show out. Very glad to hear this, only hope now is that Vasek can keep himself healthy and contribute some.

CJ Baxter may need a lot more time....
He's going to get reps early on, he just won't get a massive share of them. Pretty sure we're all aware of this lol.

Texas High School Football 2025 Thread
What Coach Surratt has been able to achieve at Carthage is incredible. They were not very good before he got there and he's turned them into a damn monster in East Texas.

Texas High School Football 2025 Thread
Book it now, Permian Panthers winning state in 2025... Okay, now onto reality. I'm going with Duncanville to win D1 and Southlake Carroll to win D2. My caveat to that is that Lake Travis could be really good in 2025, so we'll see how that goes for them.

DJ Lagway
Hope he gets it healed for our game, otherwise our pass rush is going to cause him trouble.

OU QB John Mateer’s passing chart versus bowl eligible teams (plus Wyoming)
Well he's from an Air Raid offense, right? From my recollection of the air raid, it's all about getting your WR's the ball and letting them do the work, no? So short passes, etc.

Mr Mateer, may I introduce you to Mr Hill, Mr Burke, Mr Spence, Mr Moore and Mr Simmons, they'll be making sure your date with the dirt goes well this year.

Will Arch Manning Hit 4k Passing Yards? (Saturday AM)
I still can't believe we almost beat them that year lol.

Redzone Offense 2025 will be very giod
I think Hutson is underrated. Started as a Fr and got lots of reps his Soph year (before being injured) and as a Jr. Think he'll do well at C.

Redzone Offense 2025 will be very giod
Maybe a weird question to ask still a bit out from the season, but what are the projected starters? I know the boys will eventually get to that but what are people thinking?

CBS Sports predicts Texas to beat Ohio State
Honestly, I agree. I think we do beat them. Think our front 7 is going to give not only Ohio State but pretty much any team complete fits. It's not that we don't have things we had to replace, but I'm confident in what we retained and what was brought in and coming up, that this will be a great for Texas.

Quick Hitter | WR Offseason Tidbits
Ironically, I think the WR's we have, Arch probably has a great connection with. Maybe even the TE's. The addition of guys like Mosley and Endries will help, too. But I think Wingo is going to h ave a huge year. Not only with more reps, but with his connection with Arch. What are expecting the starting group and 2 deep to look like?

That's fair, a lot of people seem to think that.
