Injury update after No. 7 Texas' 38-7 win over San Jose State
I'm not going to lie, this is the second week in a row that he is grimacing when throwing like that. It also might explain his poor mechanics? But if he is injured, then it's a poor job by the staff of not seeing it and fixing it. Right now I'll choose to believe he's not injured and it's just people nit picking certain things.

A lot of teams did struggle, that is true. Get the penalties down, be more consistent on O and establish yourself, that would be great.

Who did we have a chance to land in the portal at WR? I'll give a mulligan for that, as I believe it was smack bang in the middle of the playoffs, no? But I don't remember us being a favourite for any WR's.

Thank You Quinn
believe it was later in that season when Thompson went out with Injury and it might've been WV or someone like that. He came in and played pretty well. He also came in during '22 when Ewers got hurt in that Bama game. Even though he was banged up himself. That might be the game you're talking about.

I agree, Wingo needs to up his game. He looks like he doesn't even want to be there lol. Which is odd. Stroh definitely didn't have a good game where he had a better one against Ohio State. Disagree taht he doesn't need to be on the field, he just needs to get better/consistent, like most of the team. Niblett is a bit of a disappointment because he has some game changing speed but that's about it. Suppose the positive is that they have a few gimmes to get things sorted/fixed.

That is a definite concern. 2-12 against SJSU. The score isn't what bothers me, it's the execution and lack of consistency. It's the sloppiness and laziness getting 12 penalties. I saw Simmons jump offsides 2 or 3 times.

I think if you don't get Ewers in the portal, he definitely would've gone after someone else. No idea what happened to Card thought he would be a better prospect but after that beating he took after the Arky game he never really seemed to be the same.

Florida? Really?
Lol coming out of the half, Michigan RB Haynes goes to the house for a long TD run. That looked way too easy on this "elite" DL of Oklahoma.

Florida? Really?
Mateer looks pretty decent against Michigan 12-18 160 yards 1 td and 1 int. He also happens to be their leading rusher with 9 carries for 30 yards and another td. Seems like he is their offense at the moment. Up 14-0 on Michigan at half time right now. Any other games of interest right now?

He had bad moments in all his years here, I guess people forget his first season here and the up's/downs. He definitely is no bum though and deserved his place here.

Thank You Quinn
I always appreciated Quinn but let's not pretend like he didn't have some bad games himself. Though I can't deny a 4th year starting QB coming back would've been great but he definitely had way more weapons than Arch has at the moment. If our top WR is Parker Livingstone, that is not a good thing (no offense to Parker he's my dude). So far Wingo not living up to his hype or level, Moore has been MIA, although I know he's injured. But before I get side tracked again, love Quinn and everything he did here at Texas, the good, the bad and the ugly. That guy is always going to be a Longhorn.

Florida? Really?
We got two weeks to sort out our issues, they got two weeks of getting beat the f*ck up lol.

Florida? Really?
If they are 1-3 coming into that game, I hope they're prepared to be 1-4.

Florida? Really?
Hey talk to 'em bro LOL.

Florida? Really?
Yeah but against Grambling lol. We also didn't look all that impressive against SJSU.

Thoughts on No. 7 Texas' surprisingly sloppy 38-7 win over San Jose State
Yes, you're supposed to be WR #1 and he's looked less than impressive two games in. Needs to wake up and make some plays.

I agree with you about the D, PK won't be doing this vanilla ass stuff against better teams, as was shown against Ohio State. It would be nice for us to stamp our authority on lesser teams though, regardless. Was happy to get the W and happy to see some of the boys perform well but overall I don't think anyone would be happy with the sloppiness and laziness we saw in this one. Tough week at practice for these boys, that's for sure.

Yes I agree, I'm not the biggest fan of it but Sark seems to like it, for whatever reason.

That was a very disappointing and unimpressive performance. So many penalties, sloppy play on both sides of the ball. Not much pressure on the QB, not much consistency on O. I won't go on and on, because no one cares about my uninformed opinion but that needs to be cleaned up asap. Glad to get the win, but that type of performance is not on or acceptable.

Friday Conversation | Ask Away!
It was something Gerry was talking about on one of the live streams. I can't recall off the top of my head now, sorry.

He does, but I'm sure Flood and Stroh can see some of his poor plays on film. We'll see how he does moving forward, but for his first start against great competition, I can't say he played poorly. He was good in the run game and pass protection.

Neto also barely played compared to Stroh. I also don't take PFF grades that seriously with how they grade things. Stroh and Baker did great for their first ever start, on the road against the #3 team in the nation and defending national champs. Think you're being overly critical here.

Two DT commits visiting Saturday
I'm really impressed by what Coach Baker has done in just a few short years at the DL. Not only is he developing/coaching at a high level, he's also recruiting at a high level. Love the '25 class and the '26 class looks very impressive, too. The DL is going to be in great shape moving forward with Coach Baker.

I don't get this "hands to the face rule". Plenty of Ohio State DL had their hands in the face of our OL and no calls, lol.

Change the Narrative vs UF
From what I've seen of neutral people doing break downs, they've all said that guys were open and that the scheme is fine, etc. But Arch has to make the throws. He completely missed wide open guys (Livingstone was open several times for good gains but Arch never saw him) and the guys that were open that he threw to, he had a bunch of really poor throws (first throw of the game and the 3rd down to Wingo, come to mind). Even the missed TD throw to Livingstone, he had Wingo inside on a slant for a TD. Now yes Livingstone should've caught it but the point still stands. Even Sark himself said in hindsight, he would've loved that 4th down play back at the 1. Overall I'm not worried about the play calling now t hat I've seen the break downs of it from people who know ball better than me. Arch was a concern, but his first road start against a D that was throwing out looks to confuse him and get him off rhythm, well I can give him a break on that. He knows he needs to better and he will be. He also made some ridiculous throws. Now he just needs to see the field a bit better, trust his OL and be more consistent.
