  1. Swain made the right decision to not come back to Texas. Salute to him! Will be watching some Bulls games this upcoming season for sure.
  2. Imo, the city of Austin should not have any professional sports franchises. In this era of college athletics, The University of Texas Longhorns have every professional sport out there besides hockey (they do have a club team though). Surprised San Antonio was not selected for MLS over Austin. AUSL is an exception because it's new and is technically in Round Rock and not Austin proper.
  3. Probably, but in this era, any one of these pitchers could get a massive offer they can't refuse and be gone at the drop of a dime. But Texas spent big on player retention last offseason, and it obviously paid dividends. I think Texas will do everything they can to keep their homegrown players (Kavan, Henry, Martinez, and Stewart) for 2028. It will be a while before the AUSL $$$ can match or surpass NIL + Rev Share $$$ in college.
  4. With the 5x5 rule potentially passing, does this affect Texas' pursuit of one more big internationally to complete this roster? Would the staff decide it is not necessary and be more willing to play Coleman Elkins if needed?
  5. Big season for Jeff Banks' unit coming up. A little concerned about Gianni Spetic's accuracy, but the leg power is there for sure. While I don't think Mac Chiumento can replicate what Jack Bouwmeester did, hopefully he is better than Michael Kern was two seasons ago. I feel good about their long snapper Trey DuBuc.
  6. Red River teams own the diamond sports
  7. And the funny thing about it is if this score holds, it would be the same final score of their last national championship victory in a big three sport…
  8. OU's big three sports natty drought is over
  9. Amazing home slate for Longhorn hoops fans. Can't wait!
  10. UNC bats hot early
  11. The only things Texas softball hasn’t done since joining the SEC is win an SEC regular season championship and beat OU in a best two out of three series (regular season or NCAA tournament). But I wouldn’t underestimate OU as they have stacked multiple #1 high school recruiting classes and have won back to back SEC regular season championships and won an SEC tournament co-championship in their first season in the league. They just haven’t had the pitching needed to continue their dominance in the NCAA tournament and continue stacking national titles. Oklahoma has been Texas softball’s version of Georgia. I’d love to see another OU-UT WCWS Final to see if OU is still Texas’ boogeywoman or if Texas is just that program in college softball now.
  12. Very good post. I think football ends the big three sports’ national championship drought if they beat Ohio State in week 2. Basketball has a shot at a Final Four run if they stay healthy and get a favorable draw in their bracket. Baseball can make it back to Omaha and finish the job depending on what they do in the portal. Just a fun time to follow Longhorn athletics. This is the best stretch of Longhorn athletics since the 2001-02 to 2005-06 seasons.
  13. Adding "assistant coach of a 3-peat Texas softball team" to his resume is a heckuva sales pitch to make. Could be a springboard to him getting a HC gig at a power conference program.
  14. Are there any sites out there similar to 247 or On3/Rivals that list team recruiting rankings for women's indoor volleyball?
