Pete Golding is a defensive minded HC and losing Kiffin/Weis Jr.'s playcalling could cause them to regress offensively more than they think, even with Chambliss and Lacy returning. Disagree. Yeah it's an old school rivalry from the Southwest Conference days. This article written by Blake a little over a year ago explains it well, although it's referring to football. Not sure Texas has a rival in basketball on that level right now. Maybe Texas-Florida can become that level of rivalry in the SEC if Miller and Golden stick around at their respective schools and Texas can start winning some games against Golden over the next few years.

Arkansas has the #1 high school recruiting class for the 2026 cycle. Texas has the #1 overall class (high school recruits + international recruits + transfer portal) in the 2026 cycle. So not the gotcha they thought it was. But this shows the Arkansas-Texas rivalry is as strong as ever, at least on the hardwood. This must be what the Nolan Richardson-Tom Penders era felt like.
