Week One: Charting Arch Manning's Passes (Ohio State)
Throwing to the right side is really bad. That’s where he opened up or threw side arm the most. He was arm throwing instead of good mechanics. What is AJ Milway doing? Is he not doing this in practice?

Hero Kanu
They also made sure that Collin wasn’t going to be the superstar. Very quick passing. This is to be expected where teams are going to scheme around him

Interesting Arch Manning Trend from the Opener (Sunday AM)
They love the deep ball in camps. They don’t teach touch. They teach rip it.

Thoughts on Arch Manning
I said if it would not have. I actually agree that it was better for the long run for him to take the L and learn from it. He will learn from this. He now knows what it is like for a big away game. He will learn to hit his check downs. In the long run of this season Arch will learn and Sark now knows more about what he has with the OL and run game. Quinn struggled with the deep throw but was good with quick throws and touch throws. Arch can work on this the next 3 games. If I were Sark I would specifically work on things in these upcoming games to help Arch improve in these areas.

The Game was ours for the taking…
Arch is a better runner when in space. Give him and option receiver like the Silas Bolden play last year. He also did it with CJ yesterday for an extra 3 yds

Thoughts on Arch Manning
Hard to blame Sark for being a bad play caller when he had to play one dimensional offense and Patricia was over there salivating because he knew Arch couldn’t hit a building from 10ths out. Heck Arch even skipped a screen.

This. Arch refused to hit his check down. Couldn’t hit Moore! Didn’t know he had a great TE. Long ball Arch is going to kill us when defenses sit back. They now have tape that says the can sit back 15yds. Cause Arch is going to go long ball hunting. The good thing is that he can learn from this.

Thoughts on Arch Manning
Not really conjecture. He was way off. If it would not have crushed his spirit, I was calling for Caldwell to come in.

Thoughts on what happened to No. 1 Texas in a 14-7, season-opening loss to No. 3 Ohio State
To some degree those are Sarks fault. We continue to have OL penalties that kill us. Wingos penalty killed us. Overall we played better than OSU in many categories but lost in penalties and turnovers. We lost the games. No play calling solves this. RZ issues. I wouldn’t have trusted Arch to throw anything. Patricia knew that Sark had to run the ball. Really made being a DC easy when the offense was one dimensional.

Interesting Arch Manning Trend from the Opener (Sunday AM)
Would love to see Rod or the film guy break this down further. Seems the PA eliminated the very quick open opportunities. Lots of time Arch was back there 3+ seconds and couldn’t find anyone open. Except his check down which he refused to hit until the 4th qtr

Was the la know aggressiveness because of what Sark saw early with Arch. I almost think thought he could be vanilla in the first half then break out the wrinkles in the second half when he had seen Patricia’s defense

Thoughts on Arch Manning
Pre snap motion would not have helped there was plenty of open receivers. Arch just couldn’t hit anything today. His mechanics went out the window.

Steve Sarkisian Post-Game Press Conference (Ohio State)
Yep Sark needs to take the bounce the ball 10 feet in front of the Receiver play out. Sark should have known that Manning wasn’t going to be able to make any easy throws or check downs. Lots of motion and handoffs I guess. It doesn’t matter about vanilla. That’s the dumbest thing I heard all day. Wingo’s penalty was not called by Sark. Killed the drive. The WR’s and especially Endries was open a lot.

Thoughts on Arch Manning
This is so true. We didn’t need Arch to win the game for us. Our run game was good. We just needed him to not lose the game for us which he did.

If Arch threw the bubble screen OSU would have taken it 98 yards. But, I do believe that if you are going to run Arch it has to be to the outside. On another note, Sark knows his OL can get the push.

The actually went empty multiple times. I think the interception was out of empty.

Thoughts on Arch Manning
How did Sark plan to limit Arch? Arch forced Sark to limit him. The first throw was a perfect call and Arch skipped the ball. Arch couldn’t even throw the screen. Can’t wait for the Film Guy to break this down. Arch couldn’t make the 2nd or 3rd read.

It doesn’t matter who calls the play if the QB can’t execute then a team is not going to win. We were 1 dimensional until the end of the 4th when OSU went to prevent and burn clock. They were daring Arch to throw.

Are you talking about the very first easy pass that Sark set up for him that he skipped or the screen pass he skipped? Or are you talking about the strong run game that started out to take pressure off Arch?

Thoughts on Arch Manning
Arch doesn’t like the TE. It was open all day. One read. Bad throw

It really constrained what he could call.

Well if he gets any worse the maybe Owen’s does get to be QB2 behind Caldwell.

That’s what I was saying. Arch is more effective out in space

Arch waited too late to find his TE.

Both teams were pretty vanilla. Sark was hamstrung because arch couldn’t complete a pass
