  1. Wait, so our tax dollars are going to support Tech”s extremely unpopular agenda?
  2. CJ said they HAD positioned themselves well, but just ruined it all with this Sorsby nonsense. I think yall might be on the same page.
  3. As a dad with small children, I much prefer night games so I can watch uninterrupted after the kids are down. The only guaranteed night game announced today is on the one night they will definitely stay up late. No bueno for me
  4. I hope Cody and TTech continue to double down. It’ll damage the program and brand even more so. It doesn’t even matter what courts say when the ENTIRE public is against them. It’s crazy to watch them daily digging their own grave even deeper.
  5. No matter what, this will be a long term loss for Tech. They are now the face of selfishly placing one football season over the health of all of college athletics. How many players are going to want to play for you when 99% of the public is against you? And now can you trust the players who do commit? What a stupidly short sighted move by Tech and Campbell.
  6. Thinking this might lead to 1) an expedited SEC/Big10 super conference with its own enforcement of rules, and 2) the guaranteed exclusion of Texas Tech from the list of teams that are added to the conference.
  7. The entire country is against this. The court of public opinion is united. This is not going to go well for anyone, especially Tech and Sorsby.
  8. Because they have teetee all over their uniforms. …Courtesy of my dad (rip).
  9. I’d be against canceling any other big name team, but screw Notre Dame right now. Until they stop demanding special treatment their fans need to suffer through watching 10+ boring blowouts every regular season. We’ll have a ton of great games without them.
  10. Texas Tech getting deep into the sunken cost fallacy
  11. I love this schedule. I love watching longhorn football. I love it even more when we’re playing games that matter, not where the outcome is 99% determined before kickoff. I’d much rather have entire season of meaningful and challenging games to watch than to coast our way through boring cupcake after cupcake for three months just to boost CFP odds. Thankfully we’re not Notre Dame. We’re a top team with the toughest schedule, This is what being a fan is all about. Bring it on!
  12. Was on campus today and snapped these. The bones of the building are there now. It’s hard to see in the pictures but the huge indoor field area has a giant screen above the 50 yard line.
  13. Some talking head (I think Klatt?) recently made an excellent point about why the leadership in college football has a very hard time making long term decisions. Basically all the key players are holding temporary positions… ADs, commissioners, coaches… none of them are guaranteed to keep their job for a decade, let alone a few years. Whereas in the NFL it’s the team owners who make the big decisions. They can stay as long as they want, and hence have more at stake in the long term, and care more about the sport as a whole. It’s essentially “renters” in charge in college versus “owners” in the NFL. The renters are motivated to optimize their results in the short time they’re there, so they’ll always prioritize their own selfish needs, and see no reason to sacrifice their own advantages for the betterment of the entire sport.
