  1. They just opened a bunch of them so I applied to four for this season.
  2. No one on this years team wears 67, 66, 65 or 64.
  3. Yall aren’t alone. I know my expectations for him were low coming in. Pretty sure he surprised everyone with how well he did.
  4. We’re 66 days away from Texas football. Today’s group is a strong one up front with Harley Sewell, Doug Dawson, Herb Gray and Calvin Anderson. Sewell is the headliner as a two-time consensus All-American, Cotton Bowl MVP, College Football Hall of Famer and four-time NFL Pro Bowler. Dawson was a consensus All-American and captain of the 1983 team, while Gray was a consensus All-American, All-SWC tackle and SWC Defensive MVP. Anderson gave Texas a big one-year boost in 2018, starting every game at left tackle for a Sugar Bowl-winning team.
  5. If youre talking about King see the third post in this thread.
  6. I know a lot of you will see the stats and scratch your head, which I get. But…. He hasn’t had the best coaching…. Pretty much ever. He had a solid back half of the season. He was battling back from Tommy John surgery. Wiener likes him a lot.
  7. RHP Gavin King of Middle Tennessee State has committed to the Longhorns. King visited Texas late last week and was the visitor I spoke of before the dead period. The Horns may still add one more arm in the portal.
  8. We’re 67 days away from Texas football. Today’s group features Glen Halsell, Julius Whittier, Jay Humphrey and Will Wilcox. Halsell was an All-American and All-SWC linebacker on the 1969 national title team, while Whittier became the first African-American football letterman in Texas history and later went into the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor. Humphrey was an All-American tackle who helped clear the way for Ricky Williams’ Heisman season, and Wilcox was a multi-year letterman and contributor up front in the mid-1970s. Who's your favorite?
  9. $20! Not sure you could get a ticket to basketball or baseball for $20 anymore....
  10. You're right. I need to fix that. 1989 was 5-6, 4-4.
  11. We’re 68 days away from Texas football, and today’s group has a good mix of old-school and more recent Longhorns. Derek Kerstetter was a steady, versatile piece up front with 58 games played, 49 starts and experience at guard, tackle and center. Larry Stephens helped Texas win the 1959 SWC title before becoming a second-round NFL Draft pick. Ken Hackemack also belongs in the mix as a four-year letterman who was drafted by the Chiefs. No one on the Texas roster currently wears 68 (65-68 actually).
  12. I knew today was gonna be dangerous on the comments. I’m not let down right off the bat.
  13. Continuing our countdown with No. 69, and this one is a little different. The clear headliner is Dan Neil, one of the best offensive linemen to ever come through Texas. Neil was a four-year starter, made 49 consecutive starts, earned consensus All-American honors in 1996 and helped Texas win both the 1995 SWC title and 1996 Big 12 title before starting on back-to-back Super Bowl teams with the Denver Broncos. Olen Underwood is the other big name here. A two-way lineman from 1962-64, Underwood was part of Texas’ 1963 national championship team, earned All-SWC honors in 1964, later played seven pro seasons and made the 1968 Pro Bowl. And since this is No. 69, you can’t ignore the 1969 Texas Longhorns. That team went 11-0, won the national championship, beat No. 2 Arkansas in the “Game of the Century,” beat Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl, averaged more than 41 points per game and rushed for 363 yards per game.
  14. Anytime my wife is involved… we are always late. lol
  15. I was actually going to include him but I couldn’t find a good picture. It’s the first time someone has been left off due to that.
  16. My apologies for just getting this posted. It’s a basketball tournament day, so it’s madness. Better late than never!
  17. No. 70 has been worn by some outstanding offensive linemen in Texas history. Scott Appleton headlines the list after winning the 1963 Outland Trophy and helping lead the Longhorns to a national championship. Leonard Davis became a consensus All-American before being selected No. 2 overall in the 2001 NFL Draft. More recently, Christian Jones started 48 games and was a key piece of Texas’ return to the College Football Playoff. Current No. 70: Kaden Scherer.
  18. Texas infielder Casey Borba has announced his return to school. As I had reported previously, Borba was on the fence about testing the MLB Draft, but was leaning toward returning to Austin. Now Jim Schlossnagle gets a veteran infielder back in the fold.
  19. This. There are only 2-3 spreads for Texas games at the moment.
  20. We're now 71 days away from kickoff and continue our countdown. For No. 71, Leo Brooks is the headliner. He was an All-SWC defensive tackle, part of the 1969 national championship team and later played seven seasons in the NFL, earning a Pro Bowl selection. Chris Hall deserves a lot of love, too, with 45 career games, 37 starts, starts at all five OL spots, All-American honors and a Rimington Trophy finalist nod in 2009. And we’ve got to include Ray Dowdy, who lettered in 1970–71, was part of the 1970 national title team and earned All-SWC honors in 1971. The current No. 71 is offensive tackle Melvin Siani. Who is your favorite?
  21. Forgot to post this earlier today! My bad yall. Don Talbert was a 1961 All-American, All-SWC selection, team co-captain and later a Longhorn Hall of Honor inductee. Texas went 26-6-1 during his career with one SWC title, one SWC co-title and a No. 3 finish in his senior season. Ed Cunningham played offensive line at Texas from 1985-89 and earned All-America honors in 1989. He was one of the top linemen on the roster by the end of the decade. Will Allen was a key piece of the 2005 national championship team. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound guard started 32 games during his Texas career and earned third-team All-America honors in 2005. Roger Roesler was a standout offensive guard for Texas in the late 1990s. He earned All-American recognition in 1999 and was also a First-Team All-Big 12 selection that season. Mason Walters started 38 straight games at right guard and played in 39 career games for the Longhorns. He earned All-Big 12 recognition and was named to the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award watch lists. Who is your favorite?
  22. Yes. I expect him to make it to campus. Something absolutely insane would have to happen for him not to. Had a convo this morning about him actually.
