Mateer thumb injury?
I remember the Sorry Bastards thing. It was true unfiltered hate and those of us that lived it have never forgotten it.

Mateer thumb injury?
Very true. I think it contributed to Royal's early retirement.

Mateer thumb injury?
Regarding OU spying: As I recall Royal accused Switzer of spying on his practices and offered Switzer his yearly salary if Switzer could pass a lie detector test. There were reports of the coaches seeing a man watching practice from a distance. Switzer refused the lie detector test and called Royal an old man that spent too much time listening to country music. Their feud came to a head in 1976. Gerald Ford was running for president, and somebody convinced him to appear near midfield during pregame alongside Royal and Switzer. The entire stadium booed loudly, and Ford's pregame move backfired largely. The game ended in a 6-6 tie, and it sucked for everyone involved. Any of you old farts with a better memory feel free to add corrections.

1972 the land thieves had our quick kick figured out before the ball was snapped.

Faking out the cameraman is a desirable trait.

Auburn getting screwed by refs!
Count me as not surprised. There was flagrant DPI by OU that went uncalled also.

I dislike these late games. Am I in the minority?
Home games are better at night. The crowd is more into it. 11:00 o'clock games not so much.

Auburn getting screwed by refs!
OU ran a trick play on their first touchdown that I believe is illegal. One of the receivers left the huddle early and pretended to run off the field but he stood just inbounds on the OU sideline. He was uncovered for a TD and the refs let it stand.

70 years ago today: the first night game at DKR
11:00 o'clock games are an abomination. I like night games.

Random CFB Facts For Week Three
"Mississippi State’s win over No. 12 Arizona State marked the first time they beat a ranked non-conference opponent since 1991. The team they beat was No. 12 ranked Texas." And I was there in Starkville, Mississippi to see that. It rained just enough to get us all soaked. Another loss to Jackie Sherrill. What a disappointing day.

Dak gets sacked 4 times. Hopefully he doesn't have his usually season ending injury.

Kalen Deboer: 8-4 fired?
Two seasons are not enough to fairly judge unless he has lost control of the players.

DCTF Anonymous Recruit Survey
Texas A&M comes away with best stadium (Texas 2nd) and best atmosphere (Texas 2nd). This disappointing and I don't know how we overcome it. One thing I will say for aggy, they are consistently loud. Kyle Field has always seemed to me to designed to trap more noise inside its walls. As to the uniforms, I can see many of today's kids liking all of TCU flashy purple, silver and white combinations.

What Steve Sarkisian liked, what Texas must fix coming out of loss to Ohio State
Our penalty on that potential safety was a killer. That could have very well swung the outcome of the game.

Rank these six teams after the last two days
I believe the rankings should not come out until the middle of the season. The rankings as of now are meaningless.

Thoughts on Arch Manning
I'm not sure the backup QB shouldn't have been inserted for a series. Seemed like Arch had a case of the nerves.

Thoughts on what happened to No. 1 Texas in a 14-7, season-opening loss to No. 3 Ohio State
I am upset and disappointed, but I'm not giving up. I really didn't see this coming. I suppose Bobby is one of the few that did.

How long and why are you a Texas fan?
My brother went to UT in 1963. I went to UT in 1973. I have attended over 200 Longhorn football games spanning 6 decades. My daughter went to UT in 2000. While in school she got a job working in Mack Brown's office. After experiencing the 30-game winning streak I wasn't sure I would live to see another championship, but 2005 finally delivered. Now I want another.
