The sheer number of NFL HC openings is starting to worry me
What is it at now, 7? Would be a nightmare if Sark decided to bite on one of those.

Portal of Possibilities
In recruiting battles where we’re competing with other “new” schools, I’m pretty sure the only big portal recruitment we’ve lost so far is Alliegro. These players’ current schools have heavy advantages over any outside school recruiting them (if they want to), and that has cost us

The problem with the all in on Arch mindset
I don’t personally think that any of the QBs we have lined up have a higher ceiling than Arch Manning. They just don’t have his physical tools. Arch also has the mental makeup and has improved in that regard over the course of the season. I think the odds of Lacey or Bell being better are low. Not to mention, the odds of Lacey or Bell winning a championship in their first year as a starter are even lower. So if we don’t win a championship in 2026, I hope the ever-patient Longhorn Nation is willing to wait til 2028 at the earliest

Are we about to waste this upcoming year?
In 2023 you wouldn’t have guessed Gunnar Helm would have the 2024 season that he had. We’re good at TE, the guys we have are perfectly capable of developing. Honestly, we’d be ok at WR too. This Fr class of receivers (Lockett, McCutcheon, etc) can and will come on. We undeniably need help at OL, that’s truth. We need at least one playmaker at RB. One homerun hitter and one goal line back would be ideal. Hate that we lost Wisner. Above all else he was a willpower guy and leader with heart

Thinking Out Loud After Weekend 1 of Portal Pandemonium
Ohio State won the title because they got 4 key, huge name transfers. That’s what I was hoping Texas would do with Coleman, Baugh and 2 OL.

Bijan caps his year off
with a ho hum performance, but a win over the Saints that keeps Baker Mayfield out of the playoffs 🤘

OTF Family Appreciation post from Rod B
New OTF merch suggestion: Hat or shirt with Rod B’s 1999 NCAA Football video game likeness 😂

OTF Family Appreciation post from Rod B
The best thing about OTF is how Longhorn Legends like Rod B are EMBRACED. Honored to even be on the same message board as you, Rod! Thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do for our University! And thank you to Bobby and the rest of the OTF staff for always keeping the main thing the main thing. Y’all are exemplary Longhorns, whether honorary, lifetime, or (in Rod’s case) legendary!

On Derek Williams
Pretty sure OTF would prefer not to have links posted to direct competitors on their message board 😂

If you could pick….
Matthew Golden was flat out good and Mitchell was clutch as it gets. WR was not the issue when we had those guys.

He’s just saying this because Arkansas is a poverty program and can’t compete in the portal 😂

2025-26 Portal Tracker Thread
If Cam Coleman is between Texas and TAMU as I’ve seen reported, that’s all the more reason for Texas to try to do whatever they can to land him. TAMU outdid Texas in portal WR recruiting and IMO that was the 2nd biggest reason they made the playoffs and we didn’t, behind their cakewalk schedule. Texas had a star transfer WR difference maker both years we made the semis. We need to replicate that for 2026.

Is Notre Dame the team to beat next year (If Marcus Freeman returns)?
Jerimiyah Love and JaDarian Price will be harder to replace than you’re suggesting. Carr isn’t that great. Notre Dame might sail through the regular season due to their easy schedule, but they will be an early exit from the playoffs due to not being battle tested. That’s my prediction.

Nope. We are. 🤘

Beautiful stat
This is the second year in a row that TAMU failed to score an offensive TD in their last home game of the season, in games that would have kept their postseason dreams alive. Beautiful Now we just need Tech to lose and OU, TAMU and Tech will all be tied for lowest CFP win percentage in history. 🤘

Elko despondent
They will be just one of 3 Texas rivals to have an go one and done in the CFP in embarrassing fashion

Adam Loewy’s not sold.
I’m in between Loewy and the board consensus on this one. My primary concern: I’m not sure Muschamp’s coaching style meshes as well these days with the portal/NIL era relative to 08/09. I look at tough coaching styles the same way as gruff news conference styles for coaches (a la Saban). When you’re winning/succeeding, it is tolerated and even looked at endearingly. When you’re losing or not succeeding, it may start to wear thin. What eases my concern: 1. We are very talented. Lack of talent shouldn’t hamper Muschamp’s success. 2. This season’s cumulative defensive results were lackluster relative to what we had/expectations. I don’t think it would take a wunderkind to improve our defensive results from this year to next. Muschamp may fall short of 08/09, but should have ample room to improve from 25 to 26. Just seeing Simmons rushing the passer more and dropping into coverage far, far less will be an upgrade.

CFP to 16 Teams: Outrage Is a Renewable Resource
Representation in 16 team format: Big10: 4 SEC: 7 Representation in 24 team format: Big10: 6 SEC: 7 Gee, I wonder why the Big10 wants 24 🤔

CFP to 16 Teams: Outrage Is a Renewable Resource
Did some Big10 shills infiltrate the board with this 24 team nonsense? Am I arguing with Joel Klatt burner accounts? 😂

CFP to 16 Teams: Outrage Is a Renewable Resource
It’s really getting to the point where people want participation trophies and A’s for effort. 16 with one spot for G6 determined by a play in. End it there. No team in the 20s in the AP poll deserves to be in the CFP! Wtf are we talking about guys? 🤦♂️ ”Let it be decided on the field”- except for September. Don’t worry about what happens on the field in September
