Check out Sydir!! I know it’s not many but he was in on tackles at or behind LOS if I recall last week and recently! Hopefully, he’s gotten AC and VB’s message “stay the course, trust your coaches, and you can learn to dominate!” No matter what it’s really great to see the growth from a kid not willing to go into a game working his way back into good graces IN THE SAME SEASON after sitting 3 games! If that doesn’t prove to the young man we’re invested in his success and development at Texas nothing will!

The SEC, Texas, and the media actually WANT TAMU to be good, it makes the product better and gives chances to highlight why Texas is such a great place to live/play/study etc. The fact they want to think of themselves like that is unfortunate. I think the entities mention want them to be the Auburn of Texas, the Florida State of Texas. The irony is not lost on me that as a Texas fan I’m pumping them up and wanting to show the country why this is one of the premier rivalries between two great schools with proud traditions.

Agree to disagree, what happened after is relevant given that we didn’t actually have to get rid of him. He had some tough seasons but was definitely better than what we landed with after the fiasco. Put yourself in Mack’s situation. Your new boss is going behind your back to poach a competitor that you feel “stole” your big deal. Then giving you the “option” to bow out gracefully and resign or get fired from a job you literally brought back into relevance. Oh and you get to do this within a few weeks because we’ve got your big replacement on the hook (we think). Was there a let down after 09, absolutely! Was it bad enough to justify what happened? Not in my opinion, but we can disagree, and still give Mack his props for what he did for Texas!

Not my memory of it. He deserved not to have them under cut him and try to hire Saban from Bama (which was unlikely to actually happen IMO). Instead, we looked like idiots, disrespecting a coach that brought us back from mediocrity, won one national championship and would’ve won another if Colt doesn’t get hurt. So instead of Saban, we lost Mack and pissed him off, and landed Charlie Strong. Patterson was a disgrace and the way everything was handled is on him.

That’s because Steve Patterson did him really dirty as did the board of regents.

Yes!! Plus might actually work better in our favor if that does happen because they’ll have to adjust big time for Arch’s style!!
