This puts it in perspective (as many PGA wins since the run began as players #2,3,4 and 5 combined? Crazy) ---- Scheffler’s play since 2021 is golf’s most dominant stretch since Brooks Koepka’s four major wins in eight tries from 2017 to 2019. The difference is Koepka didn’t bother winning outside those majors. Scheffler? He has 12 non-major wins since 2022, including two Players Championships. At the risk of belaboring the numbers, and the absurdity, Scheffler’s 15 total individual PGA Tour wins since his first (2022 WM Phoenix Open) are as many as those of Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas — the official world golf ranking’s Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 players — combined. Jordan Spieth has won the Masters and US Open (2015) and the British Open (2017). He is listed as born in 1993 so he was well under 28, right? I think Rory McElroy had four by that age (not going to look it up, but sounds right).

Former University of Texas golfers led after all four rounds - yes, Jhonattan Vegas (who led the first two rounds) was a Longhorn golfer in the early 2000's after immigrating from Venezuela. Worth mentioning that the softball team won 9-0 to advance to the Super Regional as well.

I was surprised to learn that Scottie Sheffler is actually second among Texas-ex golfers on the PGA leader board. Didn't know that the leader after rounds one and two, Jhonattan Vegas, was a Longhorn scholarship golfer in the early 2000's. Still pulling for Scottie though.

Two Cleveland QB prop bets for the crowd - # 1 prop bet - "How many of these QBs will start a game for the Browns this fall?" 1 - probably Flacco, maybe Pickett 2 - extremely likely at least two, probably Flacco and Pickett if they keep both 3 - pretty likely that one of the rooks will get a shot at starting at some point, especially late in the season if they are losing a lot of games. But which one? 4 - if all four start you can bet the wheels fell off the Cleveland Express once again -- # 2 prop bet - a likely scenario is they keep Flacco and Pickett as 1-2 and then one of the rookies as QB 3, placing QB 4 on either the taxi squad or on injured reserve. Which rook is more likely to be kept on the active roster, Gabriel or Sanders? Given they picked Gabriel two rounds earlier you gotta think he'd win out, but who the heck knows. Guaranteed distraction that's for certain.

Talks apparently in the early stages but the preliminary number tossed around is $5 million extra per team or $80 million total on top of the current $811 million media rights deal. I'm guessing it will go a little higher though. Personally I'd like to see it, especially with the expanded CFP format. This also paves the way to establish up to 3 annual 'rivalry' games and still play each of the other 12 teams every other year. What do you guys think? Wow, Davante Davis (Fall 2024 grad) was a name I did not expect to see. Been a long time coming. Congratulations to the young man! I think he was one of Charlie Strong's Florida Five who were going to straighten out Texas football for good, IIRC. Class of 2015 so he has been around for a while.
