Anybody else remember this Don Nelson shot from the 1969 Finals? If so you must be old too. Celts vs Lakers (featuring Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West). 1:33 to go in Game 7, 1 point game, his desperation shot hits the back of the rim and bounces above the backboard and then drops in without touching the rim. Celts won by 2. This was the era of dynasties - Celts in the NBA, UCLA in men's basketball, Yankees, Packers (sorta). I was so tired of watching the Celts win every year (Bill Russell won 11 NBA championships in 13 seasons + 2 championships in college). I was rooting hard for Jerry West but the Celtics kept pulling stuff like this. West had a 53 point game in that series and averaged 38 but it wasn't quite enough. This is how I remember Don Nelson, long before he became a coach.

Sean Miller has 25 NCAA tournament wins so would rank # 21 on this list just by himself. He has reached I think four Elite 8s but has yet to reach the Final Four. This should be one of his best teams, we'll see how far he goes. His best teams to date were seeded # 1, # 2 and # 2 at Arizona and # 3 twice at Xavier.

As Jordan mentioned the Chandler QB (# 1 prospect in Arizona) is committed to Oregon. Also their top WR is going to Wisconsin and an OT to Utah, so there is a lot of talent on the field, though Basha should win, they are much stronger up front. Should be a good game. Hopefully Roberts can break out his senior year.

I looked up Brown's track times in HS and he was a 10.7-ish guy in the 100m - fast but not "fastest player in college football" fast, more like "top 10 on the Texas roster" fast. Yeah I know, but I was wondering why they did it that way instead of having the fouled player take the penalty kick. It would spread out the goal scoring and make the kick more exciting (lower percentage).

Dumb question from someone who doesn't watch much futbol When there's a foul in the box why doesn't the player who drew the foul take the penalty shot instead of a designated sniper? Just curious ...
