  1. The two penalties in that quarter were very significant. Hopefully they can clean that up the rest of the game.
  2. This is second-year Sayin's first start, and it's against one of the top (if not THE top) defenses in college football with elite pass rushers and defenders everywhere. The buckeyes will have to try to run the ball because their passing game could get very ugly. I expect at least two Sayin turnovers. Arch has an extra year of tutelage in Sark's system and about three games of live experience which is very significant by comparison. That will be the difference in the game.
  3. It was 4th and 4, so he had nothing to lose by making a risky throw rather than take a sack or throw it away. Great play under the circumstances.
  4. The Bite Me podcast on YT as well as virtually all other podcast platforms is a very entertaining saltwater weekly show.

So all the NIL packages offered by all the other schools were available to you to draw that conclusion? I'm impressed!

It seems to me that missing out on a recruit that is making it all about the NIL isn't much of a loss. Most likely, they'll be the first ones to transfer if they don't get an NIL raise down the road. What you want are the recruits that see the big picture...NFL caliber development, great education, life-long connections, incremental NIL opportunities in a thriving city and state, etc, in addition to a fair initial NIL package. Those are the guys that will stick around for 3-5 years while they develop and earn playing time. It's a tough balance to achieve, but Sark seems to be good at it so far.
  7. Given those two options, Coach White made the right decision because of the Game 1 victory. He knew that if it went to Game 3 that his team would have a significant advantage with a rested Kavan and a worn out Canady. Had Texas lost the first game, the pitching rotation for a Game 2 would have been different.
  8. It's clear to me that the tt BMDs are looking to seize leadership of the diminished Big12 now that Texas and ou are gone. Softball is probably the sport most likely to benefit from bringing in one elite player to pitch. Not a bad strategy unless they're expected to pitch three full games in three days against elite competition.
  9. TK deserves an NIL raise after beating the $1MM pitcher twice in the finals.
  10. Won the Natty on ou's home field. Priceless.
  11. Fitting that the final out was a good play by the SS.
  12. TK has decided if she wants outs she needs to throw Ks.
  13. Atwood's game winning hit off the attempted intentional walk is one of the most clutch heady gutsy (...) plays I've seen in decades of watching sports. Amazing and stunning. What a game!
  14. Muscle memory is an amazing phenomenon. She literally didn't have the control to throw four intentional balls.
  15. 13 LOB vs 3. Tough to win with that stat.
  16. Check out Pop's own words at the 4:10 mark. Tim Duncan was the amazing player and person responsible for the success of the Spurs. Pop was along for the ride as any number of good coaches would have been. https://youtu.be/xaooJTd9K00?feature=shared
  17. Pop himself admits that his coaching success was because of Tim Duncan. Just compare his records with and without Tim and you'll see his point. Was he a good coach? Yes, but Timmy made him great for a good stretch. As far as his (unwise for business) propensity to interject partisan politics into sports, I'm with Phil: https://sports.yahoo.com/ex-nba-coach-phil-jackson-says-he-stopped-watching-basketball-when-players-wore-slogans-on-jerseys-during-covid-19-bubble-171459079.html
  18. TIm Duncan made Pop a great coach. After Tim retired, he wasn't special. Also, I don't appreciate any sports figure inserting their personal political opinions into the game. That's one reason I enjoy sports...to get away from the political commentary...regardless of tribe.
  19. Apparently a neck injury in last season's last preseason game that required surgery. Sad to see after all that work. Hope his transition out of playing goes well.
  20. Being a backup QB in the NFL is a great job. Life changing money without the physical abuse of a starter.
  21. QE's injury history is most likely the reason he's slipped this far.
