What money? And who?

So who was?

Neither was Meyer, but he won.

Yes, the old “everyone cheats, except us” routine. In that case Herman couldn’t do what Mack was able to despite being a marginal upgrade over Strong.

Who had NIL money during the Herman era?

Herman lost too many games he shouldn’t have, while losing virtually all he was expected to. The fact he often made those games more competitive than expected was a bit of a plus.

You honestly believe Oh St, Georgia, Bama, Mich, Oregon, Penn St, aggy, et al, aren’t playing in the same space? Penn St just paid a guy $50 million not to coach, aggy has about that much left to pat. They got the money.

When a high profile P4 team pulls the trigger early others will be playing catch up.

1-4 vs OU as well.

So Herman only had what every other program had. Just like Sark today. Gotcha.

Herman could recruit skill guys but was awful on the line of scrimmage. He did well early on with Charlie’s guys, at least better than Charlie did. But by 2020 recruiting went aground and the well was drying out.

I think blocking would also be nice.- No. 21 Texas 16, Kentucky 13 (OT): Postgame with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns
It’s called coach speak because every coach does it. Listening to pressers and expecting anything illuminating would be very frustrating. People never seem to get angry with coach speak after a big win. Wonder why?- Sark/Herman
Your press conference expectations are a bit high.- No. 21 Texas 16, Kentucky 13 (OT): Postgame with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns
We did against OU. For whatever reason we matched up well with them, got Wisner loose, then suddenly Arch could breathe in the pocket. I have no doubt we would have done the same last night. But 12 for 37 ain’t getting it done for your lead back.- No. 21 Texas 16, Kentucky 13 (OT): Postgame with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns
This blame the messenger crap is ridiculous. I’ll keep a close eye next spring and summer on coaches who’ll announce they’re weak in particular areas, don’t trust certain players and question perceived strengths. And during the season I’ll let everyone know when a coach openly blasts individual players and questions a team’s character during pressers. PS, that ain’t how the world works.- Vandy Oline
Okie’s front seven looked particularly good today. I guess South Carolina has no heart, courage or discipline.- Sam Ehlinger
That’s still an aspiration for him. Colt and Chase didn’t really bounce back to the practice squad regularly. In fact, both signed very nice contracts to be QB2s regularly.- Is Shohei Ohtani the best we have ever seen in sports?
Brown was responsible for rule changes effective to this day in lacrosse. He was that good.- Benefits of being in the SEC vs not
Left out with 3 losses? Thems the breaks.- Is Shohei Ohtani the best we have ever seen in sports?
Yes, we need laws to protect owners from making business decisions. Also, let’s have congress set caps on player compensation in college football while allowing for eight figure buyouts for coaches not to coach. Sorry, but I believe in free enterprise.- Is Shohei Ohtani the best we have ever seen in sports?
Yes, until we see an all-Pro QB playing at an all-Pro level on defense we won’t see anything better. - No. 21 Texas 16, Kentucky 13 (OT): Postgame with Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns
