Tonight’s game highlighted the gap between a good coach and a truly great one. Sarkisian hasn’t lived up to the offensive genius hype—against quality opponents, he’s been mediocre at best. After five seasons, it’s hard to expect any real change. Same issues every year: penalties, red-zone struggles, third-down woes. This is Sark’s offense and scheme. It won’t change. This is who we are.

I hope I’m wrong, but I fear we’ll get crushed in Athens.

Player development needs to improve and overall offensive coaching needs to change. Sark needs to hire an OC, if not he’ll be an OC again in a few years.

Arch wasn’t the issue yesterday; in fact, he was one of the few standout performers. He played well with a terrible offensive line and poor offensive coaching.

Absolutely.

The offensive line, recruited and coached for four years under Sarkisian, is regressing, playing soft and undisciplined football. Play-calling lacks creativity and needs immediate improvement. Texas has recruited too highly to be this poorly developed and undisciplined. This reflects poor coaching, particularly across the entire offensive side of the ball. Rebuilding year or not, Texas is likely a 5-7 win team, despite a roster too talented for such mediocre results. Sark is facing a monumental fail at his current pace.

If Texas plays a clean game, they’ll dominate 48-3. If they don’t, it’ll be closer—31-10 or 38-7. We’ll find out soon enough.

Arch played terrible, that’s the issue.

I completely agree, General. After watching the film breakdown of Arch’s game, his mechanics were poor, and he made several bad reads, particularly early on. He did show improvement as the game progressed.

Arch seems disoriented and needs time to adjust.
