I get your point but Gundy did have OSU in the Big 12 Championship game 2 yrs ago and he has brought OSU football to heights its never been to

for 20 yrs and he now a 58 yr old MAN. Thought they might let the season play out.

Tulsa or not he deserved better than mid season firing. I don’t care for him publicly but I think he earned a little more respect.

IMO if it's about respect then he should have resigned given his disdain for this era of college athletics. I don't feel sorry for a guy who will get 15 million dollars worth of respect for being a failure at his job.

Eric Morris.

This ended like Gary Patterson's tenure ended at TCU.  Both long time employed head coaches and legends at their programs, but both went out on a sour note.

Heckuva run.

This opens the portal window for OSU's players. They got any OL or RB worth looking at? 

He was a huge thorn in our side in the BigXII. Good luck to whatever he does next and God bless him no matter what.

Tough to lose a character like that. College football needs the gundy , leach, and  kiffin types.

No doubt. Should have waited until the end of the season. My guess on the Tuesday morning timing is they tried to get him to agree to a reduced buyout and a "resignation." He wouldn't do it, and they fired him. Maybe they win a game or two more than they would have, but this is bad for their program.

I wouldn’t hire him or Dabo in this current environment.  Without a huge bump in resources that program feels like it could be on a big decline.

Gundy needs to go into TV. He'd be great on a pre-game show, interviewing other coaches, throwing out zingers.

As I said on another thread.  Hire him now as an analyst to fix and innovate the run game.  (QB and RB run game)

Replace mcaffee and I’m sold.  I could watch gameday again 

Oklahoma State has 11 seasons of 10 wins in 124 years of playing football.  Mike Gundy coached 8 of those 11 seasons.  Historically they are a bottom dweller programs except for the Gundy years.  I would say regardless of anything else he deserved better than to be fired in the middle of the week a quarter through the season.  They may never get back to another 10 win season ever again.

Can't stand gameday myself. Unfortunately, McAffee is popular, so that probably won't happen.

Don't think Gundy would agree to the analyst roll at this point. Patterson did, but Gundy has a much bigger personality.
