OTF Team
Wanted to thank you all for the past three weekends of recruitment updates, interviews, and notes. You put a lot of time and effort into your craft and I, as well as most of us here, appreciate all that you do. Gerry and CJ thanks for all your efforts spent at airport, facilities and so on to bring the latest intel. I know it’s not over till it’s over , but great work and it is appreciated.

Welcome to the 40 acres Caleb and good luck.

NCAA allows on-field advertiser logos this season
Bring in revenue however you can. I just hope uniforms and the field don’t turn into a NASCAR starter kit. With that said Gerry on the big board during games doing the Manscape advertisement would be the greatest.

Game night tomorrow night (need your responses and one OG to participate!)

Texas Pro Day Thoughts
Great time to be a Longhorn. When the bubble is full of coaches and scouts evaluating talent and a couple of coaches comment on your current starting quarterback, life is good.

Spring Practice No. 1 Observations (Tuesday 12:50 p.m. CST)
Gerry, have you heard if Vasek is back to 100%? Would be great for him to take that next step.

Freshman Notes - Catching My Eye
Bottom line for me is how fun it is to have so many exciting freshmen. In the past it has been one maybe two a season. There have been times there really wasn’t one at all. Exciting times for sure. Sark and company keep it rolling.

It begins today
I agree ultra talented. I believe as spring , summer sessions, and early games played they could get better. Get the cohesion, timing, and back to game speed mentality could pave the way for another huge season. Boils down to some players taking that next step for me.

It begins today
Bobby in your first broadcast this morning you mentioned showing up to spring practice how impressed you were. What’s your initial thought of this team/spring practice compared to last year initial thoughts?

Alabama OC to the Seahawks
Ouch!

In The Pipeline | EDGE & LB
I understand, there will not be those double teams this year with what we currently have I don’t think. Allowing a bit more extra protection for QB. Moore hopefully makes the bigger difference.

In The Pipeline | EDGE & LB
I agree they were two of the best, but as far as QB sacks from the them were not all that high. If you had one or two DL guys that were true threat to sack the QB, that’s where it would get the ends maybe a bit more of a free rush at QB.

In The Pipeline | EDGE & LB
My thought is if they can get a really good DL in this spring portal session to compliment what we have it would take pressure off the ends to get pressure. Especially if Burke and Sorrell make another leap from last year along with the addition of Moore. Maybe/ maybe not contribution from Simmons this year. To be determined.

Thursday Morning Recruiting Nuggets (7:19 a.m. CST)
I’m not sure about Lacey, he seem to be more enthusiastic about his continued recruiting tour than the commitment he made to Texas. I think he may disappear as soon as someone else pays more attention to him. Maybe/hopefully I’m wrong.

In the Pipeline | QB & RB
Stacked QB and RB room…. No doubt.

Hello Gerry, glad your back.

Going Back to Cali
I think Rod, CJ, and Bobby spoke about it one day on OTF I think when talking about Kenny Baker. Networking is one of the most important qualities in a successful coach. Not just in your coaching contact but your high school coaches, players, schools themselves, and the parents. We are all biased about our own kids and for a parent to know that coaches at a particular school are invested in them for much more than sports. They want them to get an education, taught values, team work, and being a productive person. I played football and baseball in high school. I played baseball in college and other than my father, a few of these coaches made a huge impact in my life. I still think about them till this day and I am 56. It takes a whole lot of work, but these coaches/recruiters invest a lot in the family not just the player.

Tuesday
Very true, they run a risk if they stay with some sort of sanctions. Nothing is guaranteed at the moment at UM. Then throw in I believe their DC and S and C coach leaving it will be different.

1st Michigan Player in the Portal
If we scooped up one good quality DL I would be ok with that. I’m just not sure it’s going to be from UM though, more like spring semester. But then again trying to predict this stuff is non existent.

Kenny Baker officially hired
Congratulations and welcome aboard. I have faith the right hire was made. I am sure he realized the pressure and expectations being hired by the Longhorns. He will be up to the task. Hook’em

Coach Kenny Baker Hits the Recruiting Trail for Texas
We will see how the results turn out, but like seeing him get after it quick and in a hurry. I think his age, appeared enthusiasm, and hard work ethic will pay dividends.

Returning Sack Production For The Longhorns
If we could pick him up that would be nice. Relieve some question about the DL. I have faith in what they have working, but to sure it up would not hurt my feelings.
