Is it adapt ability? Is Sark refusing to come off his pay for play? Willing to take a top 20 maybe recruiting class and fad into obscurity again… getting those vibes. We should be grateful after last year which I am, but so much is wrong with recruiting after a year like that and a supposed great brand in Austin. There is always a, but don’t worry or try to flip them late, or the money was there, or they wanted to be somewhere more, or had a better relationship with whoever. Something is not cooking with recruits. Let’s try first figuring that out instead of excuses. So disappointing. Getting pantsed and shoved in a locker is getting old. Rant over maybe. Carry on.

Can we please quit spinning all the talking points. Excuses are getting old. Getting ass whipped, money whipped, and out classed in all areas. Texas winning season, going to SEC, producing NFL players hasn’t helped this staff one bit. Better recruiting class in Big XII let that sink in.

He is an in state product, high profile ( the highest) , was a Texas lean for over a year (supposedly), why wouldn’t he go to Oregon. Getting our ass handed to us. But great recruiting, nothing wrong, nothing to see here, just move along all is great. Have to call BS on this.

You guys make great points. It’s just frustrating as a fan to hear how big the brand is, most athletic revenue, top NIL revenue, but constantly lose at the area of concern. I get you can’t pay them all, but the world we live in now NIL is going to have to be used as leverage at certain times. Don’t brag about it use it to your advantage. Cowboys come to mind the brand and bragging rights as to how much they are worth overshadows product and results on the field. Hate that comparison, but quit bragging about your pull and use it on DT positions. We need to quit spinning it when it comes to DT we can’t get it done recently and a big part of the DT recruiting is not using your pull with NIL. It’s hard for other DT’s to complain about what the other one makes if you sign none.

So two every other year sounds like a plan…

I think Sark and company have done well flipping players late, with that said it has not been in the DT recruits. We brought in three mid to mid high level lineman in the portal. We did loose out on the top portal lineman in the portal. Not that Williams is all that but supposedly the best in portal. I don’t believe we have flipped a DT recruit. Maybe I’m wrong. I say all this to say they do great recruiting through December. Just not in the area of DT.

I agree with this. It has been said on OTF that if you want two you need to bring in ten. I agree with this totally as well. However, if you’re not going to bring in ten and just your top five you better bring the money and A game bottom line. They aren’t coming here just because it’s Texas as disappointing as that is. Portal might be an option, but that’s rolling the dice. D. Williams is an example. Pay premium price for a guy that if as good as he thinks he is should’ve been in NFL draft already. I think this is his fourth year, I may be wrong.

Yea it’s the DL position, not feeling confident. Gerry commented this morning on OTF that we would probably have a top 5 recruiting class, but maybe not fill all our needs. I rather have a top 10ish recruiting class and not have hole in a position.

Where does the money come from on OV’s? NIL or University funds?

They are playing the game the way it is set up to be played right now. I think that’s what NIL is supposed to be used for. Brag about having it or actually put your money where your mouth is.

I agree with you on Dorian Brew. I didn’t feel we were going to land him either. It would just give us reassuring moment to land someone that is on our big board.

Out of all our high profile targets when are we going to land one. DK was the only one I truly felt really good about… not so much.
