This one is circled on my schedule as a tough out. If we get past OSU, we will have some serious momentum going into the Swamp, but my fear is that we're looking ahead to 0u and we beat the snot out of them last year. Best case scenario, Florida comes in undefeated and we take the game as seriously as possible. If Lagway is healthy, they will be legit. Florida has Miami the week before us and Lil Bro the week after, so I doubt they'll be looking ahead, but Miami could be a trap game for them. Hoping we're both undefeated when we meet and we remain so after the game.

It saddens me that Foreman's talent was wasted on a team with weak leadership and average / below-average talent around him. His use was tantamount to abuse in some games, but he never complained. Doak Walker winning, 2k season, selfless. I still believe his NFL career was damaged based on how many times he was run at Texas. Priest was the man, but Foreman gets my vote. He deserves much more.

If he does throw for 4k+ and we make the semis (at a minimum) again, is he the Heisman winner?

After watching all of our media day, I can honestly say I've never been more proud to be a Longhorn. Our head coach is articulate, humble, proud and conveys confidence without being an ass. Our player representatives are all smart, well-spoken and well-prepared. I'm proud of this group and couldn't be happier with the trajectory of the program. #HookEm!

Hey Blake, I've been waiting for this one. No one will know his name from his playing days, but my Uncle Guy Matthews is my #50. He was in Darryl Royal's first class and was on track to be a key contributor when he was injured, breaking multiple ribs and puncturing a lung while playing. DKR allowed him to retain his scholarship. He graduated from UT Law and went onto become one of the foremost patent attorneys in the world. He was a brilliant, harsh, hard-to-work-for (I clerked for him for 1 year), and bled Burnt Orange until the day he died. At his funeral, all of his grandkids got to wear one of his Texas Ties (all Longhorn branded). He never forgot where he came from, often contributing to UT and his hometown, Barbers Hill. In 2022 he was inducted into the Barbers Hill HS Sports HoF. The football practice field at BHHS is named 'Guy Matthews Field." He was an Eagle Scout at the age of 13, played football, and was in the band while in HS. Just one of those incredibly talented people you don't see too often in life. My dad wasn't as talented as Guy on the football field, but he played against him a couple of times. His comment on playing with him, "Yeah, when that summabitch hit you, you stayed hit." Man, the refs did everything they could to keep TTU in that game. We beat both teams tonight.
