You could give the young man a free education and unfettered access to whatever support he needs, while also not allowing him to be on the team after years of continued breaking of NCAA rules and betting on his own team. Showing the young man care does not necessitate him being allowed to continue to play football at your university.

I wonder if Tech is seriously concerned that the Big12 might actually step in here and they want to limit further news cycle material.

Allow me to humbly suggest that we don’t allow one situation to harm our own hearts. It seems like many people around Tech might be gaming a side of a system of which they stood on the other side recently. But don’t let what others do spark cruelty or bitterness in you. Remember, vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19).

I do not like this one bit. It doesn’t seem fair to the other colleges, college athletes, the fans, or the rule makers. That being said, I still pray for the young man’s soul. That’s more important than how many football games he plays.

I’m curious what they consider a “blue blood.” Hey……what if Texas already told ND that the next few years are called off, and Tech convinces the Irish to play????

Forgive me, apparently I was partially wrong- Sark said they could play their schedule (which would include the Big12 teams) with their 2s and 3s. But anybody suggesting that Sark said they’d beat Tech with them is either misled or fabricating things.

Surely the Tech coach realizes Sark didn’t say Texas could beat Tech with their 2s and 3s. The narrative that that’s what Sark said is ridiculous. And if Texas couldn’t beat Oregon State and ACU with their 2s and 3s- that’s a problem.

One can go to college at any age. If they still have the physical wherewithal to compete- why not?

Why an age limit? He’s never played college football and he will be past a young prime anyway. This isn’t breaking any rules.

I don’t think Sark was trying to make it about Tech. See his comments on “basket weaving” and Ole Miss. Sark is fighting for his university and his team and he is still sore from missing out on the CFP last year. Did Texas deserve to be in over teams who played much less staunch opponents? As a fan, I say yes. But judging based solely on record, no. So Sark is leaning in on highlighting the disparity in opponent and schedule, which is stark. He is making the case for Texas he was making last year. He is publicly posturing for acceptance of the narrative that it’s harder to win at Texas than other places. Is that fair? Who knows. But I think he’s sick of the “Texas is the bogeyman” stigma and he’s coming out “guns blazing” (sorry Tech). He’s right and the system is flawed and unsustainable. Until more applicable metrics are applied, and a broader range of them, schools with a difficult conference and OOC schedules will be negatively impacted.

I would assume Oklahoma or A&M?

Texas wins nothing by playing Tech. I’d rather play…..*whispers*…Maryland again.
