18 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 18?
Super Bill Bradley 18. Exceptional NFL career as a S for Philadelphia. SWC record holder for interceptions in a game vs aTm (4 on Turkey day 1968). That game was my first in person Longhorn game, and the day I decided I was going to UT. Got to visit in the locker room (different world back then) which was a thrill for a 15 year old.

Texas Snags New Baseball Commit
One article I saw had his fielding as being more advanced than his bat.

Happy Texas a&m day to all who celebrate
Love that the cop grabs the SMU cheerleader rather than the jackwagon with the sword.

Never started number one
The "never" thing is a little misleading. In the way back machine, the two polls were AP and UPI - so UPI not Coaches. I think we would've been first in both those polls in 1970

25 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 25?
Chris Gilbert was a fantastic player who is often overlooked. Both he and Charles had 3 great years, but want to keep Gilbert's memory alive.

About That Texas Defense… (Saturday PM)
Graceson Littleton gets a lot of mention. Kobe Black, Wardell Mack or Warren Roberson stepping up at CB could push Guilbeau back to Star which in turn impacts S. Lots of moving parts.

27 Days Away From Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 27?
That play was insane. It should be an all-timer regardless of circumstances, but you throw in the magnitude of the game and it is off the charts, imo. Johnnie Johnson and Michael Griffin are my co #27's. Fantastic players, among the best in the history of DBU (Ray Clay is on deck.😉)

29 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 29?
I'll go with Phil Brown, but with an honorable mention to Joey Aboussie. Aboussie was a ferocious wishbone blocker (second only to Jim Bertelsen) and I have a soft spot for those guys. And yes Jeff, I have a soft spot for Ungar too! Having said all that, I hope in a couple of years that 29 is Graceson Littleton hands down.

30 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 30?
We wouldn't have beaten ND for the National Championship game 1/1/70 without Worster. He gained 155 of the toughest yards I've ever seen. Notre Dame was much larger than UT (with few exceptions), sitting right behind the Longhorn Band, I could see the punishment he took & overcame. One helluva a performance, quite memorable to me.

Interesting note on Anthony Hill and his future in the NFL...
Yah, safeties aren't typically drafted very high. If you think Taafe is a mid round guy, we and don't view him much differently. I read your post more as "Taafe is a spare" and I don't think he should be compared to top safeties.

33 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 33?
Priest Anthony Holmes 33. Injury-career at UT, but great post-season highlights in the 94 Sun Bowl and initial Big XII championship game in St. Louis. Terrific NFL career as UDFA for Baltimore and FA for the KC Chiefs.

OU Tears Thread
To be fair (I know), the cheating from Bud and Switzwer preceeded Castiglione. I thought he was very good for them, and consequently I'm really glad he is out of the picture now. They look like a total cluster now.

Which Texas high schools have been the best for Texas?
I think Eric Winston played at Miami. He wanted to but his aggy parents wouldn't let him, so the compromise school was Miami.

36 Days Away From Kickoff -- Who's Your Favorite No. 36?
Looked up Graham's wiki and 6 seems to be a big number for him. Six years in the league with the Lions, in which he had 6 picks and 6 fumble recoveries. Very good safety in the late 70's for the good guys.

37 Days Away From Kickoff — Who’s Your Favorite No. 37?
I thought Glenn Blackwood was terrible as a freshman, but that guy just kept getting better. He not only became a trusted DB for us, but as Henry James metions above he had a very nice NFL career.

OTF on the Road: Steve Sarkisian's keynote address at the THSCA Convention
A lot of Sark's message reminds me of an updated version of former UCLA basketball Caoch John Wooden, and his pyramid of success. Coach Wooden was a great communicator, who was able to get his meesage through to his (admitedly great) players. It is not surprising to me that Coach Sark is having similar success, which I think is still in it's early stages.

SEC Media Days 2025: Texas taking dead aim at Georgia in the newest fight for SEC supremacy
Love hearing the SEC bagmen whine about money. Oh yeah, he told us he wasn't whining - during his whine.

SEC Network on Texas at Media Days
Not really. We have a zit or two, but I don't think toughness is it. If we could keep still on a FG attempt, we would have beaten Georgia for the SEC championship. Does anyone question their toughness?

46 Days Until Kickoff — Who’s Your Fav No. 46?
Rosey Leaks 46. Third in the Heisman voting in 73, but suffered a serious knee injury the following spring.
