Hill Named Butkus Finalist

***

Texas LB Anthony Hill Jr. has been named a finalist for the 2025 Butkus Award – presented annually to the nation's best linebackers.

The finalists are as follows:

  • Georgia LB CJ Allen
  • Ohio State LB Arvell Reese
  • Indiana LB Aiden Fisher
  • Texas Tech LB Jacob Rodriguez
  • Texas LB Anthony Hill Jr.

Hill is also expected to return to the field on Friday night against Texas A&M after missing the Arkansas game with a hand injury.

Clinch it with a big game against A&M. We will let Tyanthony out of the cage to wreak havoc on lil’ bro and send  em home crying.

My guy! He's going to earn it on Friday. That was one of his goals this year and what better game to clinch it! Let's go! Story lines couldn't be any better for this game!

It should be down toHill and the kid from Tech.  If TT played the same level of comp as Texas i think Hill walks away with it, but if your looking at plain stats its hard to argue.

Some damn good LBs in this group. Agent 0 is the best of all of them in my opinion, just look what his impact was when he was out last week. Whether he wins or not, definitely deserves it in my book!!

Agree. I'd give a slot nod to Rodriguez.

IMHO Hill should have won the award last year.  He was playing lights out last year (this year too).

Definitely think the kid from tech takes it home. Though they really play nobody compared to our level of competition.

I would agree. His season is absolutely nutty.

Yeah, better case a year ago than this season imo
