I saw Mateer at Love's Truck Stop in OKC opening a big canister of Robertson's Beef Jerkey with his surgically fixed throw hand. No stress in the twist of the lid. 100% playing.

I will add, I have been told Mateer is also dealing with a knee sprain at the moment as well. Between the hand and the knee, probably not an ideal outlook for Oklahoma as their schedule gets going after Texas.

I read a report from criminal media that Mateer wasn't really injured. He had surgery to give him a bionic thumb on his right hand. This was suggested by Switzer.

This has the potential to be the most hilarious moment in sports history. OU rushes their QB back from surgery on his throwing hand in a desperate attempt to beat Texas only for him to further injure his hand and miss the rest of the season. OU goes from top 5 to not even bowl eligible. 

Mateer’s thumb rehab and recovery exercise involves a tortilla press, more news to come as it breaks.  

Guarantee he’s not super accurate if tries to play, and I’d be terrified of him carrying the ball while getting hit on that hand if I were OU.
