  • It's a sweep for the Horns. Texas will advance to face Wisconsin or Stanford in the Regional Final.

  • There's nothing better (or more agonizing) to watch than an evenly matched NCAA volleyball game.  The pace of the game and changes in momentum make it the most entertaining (or miserable) experience i

Just an insanely dominate performance over #21 Baylor. Big wins in every set. Cari Spears led the offense with 18 kills while hitting an insane 0.654! She added 3 blocks Torrey Stafford had

Lot coming back next year, be in the thick again.

Only watched bits and piece but they had a long way to come back.  Wisconsin played great and we were a bit off.  Good season though and should also be really good next year.

Pretty sure it was 3-1 ...

Texas might go after Izzy Starck, the star setter from Penn St who’s in the transfer portal.  She led Penn St. to the title last year.

Stratford and Swindle picked a terrible day to have the worse games of their season.

Swindle can be really good but tends to have off nights, Maybe Elliot needs to bring in another setter he can put in when Swindle struggles

Watching volleyball is the most angst ridden sport to watch. The swings go back and forth and the margin of error is miniscule. I can't watch it.

He tried that some yesterday.

Can never put a match down to one person. But when the setter is inconsistent, it effects the whole game.

A good setter is exactly what’s needed. Way too inconsistent with what we have. Way too inconsistent.

Don't have any info, however what is fact is that Starck's mother played volleyball for Texas, albeit was before Coach Elliott took over the program.  So hopefully there's interest from her as she was the freshman of the year last year and entered the portal for mental health.  Texas' previous players have often said that coming to Texas brought back the love of volleyball for them (latest one being Madi Skinner).

Find it kinda of funny that suddenly a bunch of volleyball experts are posting after season ended short of the Final Four.

Probably because likely Harvey is going to be a starter next year along with Nya Bunton.  This severely hurts depth though.

This one hurts because she's finally healthy but the emergence of the freshman limited her playing time.  When she transferred in, coach said she had the potential to be the next franchise player.  This was also prior to Stafford joining the team as well, so logjam at the position along with the #1 recruiting coming in next year.

Did she leave Nebraska amicably? or was there a reason?

Don't know the reasoning, but my guess would be that it was not amicably.  There were rumors there was some beef with the coach.

The reason I say that it was not amicably, is because I remember something to the effect in one of her posts about transferring to Texas, she threw shade saying "transferring to a program where they know how to win championships" - which was right after the season Texas annihilated Nebraska in the championship match.

The animosity between Texas and Nebraska in volleyball is about how it is between Texas and ou in football imo.  One of the rumors on the volleyball forum on former player Kayla Caffey (who also transferred from Nebraska) is that allegedly Cook accused her of being selfish and not a team player, so when she transferred to Texas, she never had her name put on her jersey and only had Texas to rub it in his face that she was a team player.

Torrey Stafford named First Team All American, Cari Spears Third Team, and Emma Halter, Honorable Mention. Congrats, ladies! 👏
