Not sure I like this as an identity. It sounds like a year's supply of unnecessary penalties, giving opponents a free set of downs.

Banks adds Lance Jackson as well

Texas throwing the ball down the field to the tight ends and the development of Helm and Sanders will continue to open doors for the Longhorns in recruiting, Banks said.

Banks didn’t say much when he was asked about the program taking the next step, but he said the Longhorns “are on that path” to playing for a national title.

Kyle flood time.

“It bothers us, too, as coaches,” Flood said regarding the offense’s red-zone issues in big games last season.

Flood said the right tackle job will be a camp battle between Brandon Baker and Andre Cojoe.

”Both guys are going to compete and we’ll see how it plays out in training camp,” he said.

 

Neto Umeozulu “had the best spring of his career,” Flood said.

Flood says Cole Hutson is absolutely ready to be the QB of the OL.

Flood seems to have a lot of confidence in Cole Hutson at center.

Jake Majors “laid a great foundation for us at Texas” at center, Flood said.

Flood said the preferred run scheme changes from year to year. He doesn’t know what it’ll be until it evolves in camp.

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear!

Flood is going to let the personnel come together before he and Sark make the call on a staple run scheme.

Flood said Jackson Christian and Nick Brooks progressed nicely throughout the spring.

Camp is an “opportunity to show us how far they can move up the depth chart,” he said.

Flood says the staff had been doing some work with the Coleman brothers online before they arrived in Austin for the summer. But he has liked seeing how they moved so far this summer. 

On guard depth, Flood mentioned Nate Kibble Connor Stroh and Jaydon Chatman. Chatman, Flood said, gives the line some position flexibility.

Trevor Goosby is “moving as well in his body as he’s ever been,” Flood said.

Flood says he doesn’t think the offense will be drastically different but that Texas will certainly tailor towards the strength of the personnel on the field. 

“Systematically, we have a really strong foundation.”
