We discussed this on Coffee and Football this morning, but I wanted to bring the convo here as well. Phil Steele has released his preseason SEC rankings and the Longhorns are No. 1. However, the chat (along with @Bobby Burton and @Gerry Hamilton) had a lot to say about the rest of the list.

Swap Tennessee and South Carolina imo 

Surprised South Carolina at #10.  Given how tough the top end of our schedule is with Ohio State, Georgia, Florida, A&M and OU, it’s not a bad thing to have 4 SEC games against the ‘bottom 4’.   Btw, I’d put the bottom 8 of the SEC against #5 to #13 of the Big 10 or #3 to #11 of the ACC or Big12 and SEC would likely have a better record.   Lots of easy wins in the other 3 conferences.   There are no easy wins in SEC.

That’s was my thoughts too. Hard to be ranked so high without a quarterback in the SEC

Texas will have their hands full with GA and if Lagway is healthy a really rough game at FL.  The statement that there are no givemes in the SEC stands true but these 2 are a bit tougher than the rest.

Some people think the Aguilar kid they basically traded Nico for may be a better player, just not with the potential upside of Nico.
