Arch Manning on how he tempers expectations:

"At the end of the day you have to remember we are playing a sport. Just remembering that this is a fun game, have fun with your teammates. You're out there with your best friends, cut it loose and have fun."

On what specifically Arch has improved out this offseason:

"I think, especially this offseason, just leadership skills and getting guys to rally around me and play for me. And to serve them best, this offseason...

This year it is nice – it is full throttle. I am blessed to be in this position."

Family aside, who do you watch (QB wise) to take bits and pieces from?

"I watch a lot of Joe Burrow and Josh Allen. Those are my guys. Obviously, Mahomes (too). I like to take bits and pieces of everyone and I like watching other guys, other great players."

Is it funny watching these guys now after seeing them at MPA?

"Yeah, yeah. I remember watching Josh Allen while he was at Wyoming come here and throw 75 yards. It is cool to see him and where he is at now."

I asked Arch Manning who is a guy or two that we aren't talking about right now, but are likely to be household names by the end of the season.

"I think tight end Jack Endries is going to be a good player. I probably shouldn't have even said that," Manning joked. "But he is going to be a good one. Christian Clark looks good, and having C4 (CJ Baxter) is good. We are excited for all of them, I can't wait."

Has anyone heard where Clark is in his recovery? Will he be a full participant in fall practice? Will he be fully available by mid year?

Asked about the offensive line with the new faces and how the group is gelling so far this offseason:

"It's good. You know, it is kind of a new group except for DJ (Campbell). But it's a good group. I feel like we are really close. Cole Hutson has sort of taken charge. I am fired up."

I asked about Trevor Goosby and if he can still dunk:

"Trevor can do about everything. I played basketball with him this offseason, he is a good player. His brother (Austin Goosby) is a really good player, we are trying to get him to Texas."

Should be a full participant for fall camp.

I asked Arkansas QB Taylen Green about LB Brad Spence who transferred from Arkansas to Texas in January:

"They are getting a dog, really. He is flying around the ball, sideline to sideline and he is a smart player. He has a real good feel for football and really good instincts. He is definitely going to make it tough on us. I love Brad, but it's going to be a fun (game) and I am excited for it."

I like Arch calling out Kaliq as having a good summer too... Endries, Wingo and Moore... gonna be interesting to watch it play out in games and who Arch gets locked in with once the games start... can't wait. Its almost like he was supposed to be keeping Endries a secret 😜...

I’ve got to give Jon Gruden some words here — he has stopped to take about 150 selfies with campers since arriving about an hour ago. He has shaken every hand and denied no one of a selfie (I should’ve gotten one).

He spent about 15 minutes speaking directly to the Nicholls State pass catchers. Then onto each and every quarterback that was attending from the college level. Credit to Coach Gruden, that’s not an easy thing to do.

From mocked to mockery if he doesn’t live up to expectations

Ole Miss QB Austin Simmons looked good this afternoon.

Baylor QB Sawyer Robertson might have my favorite arm through day one. It just jumps off his arm.

I’ve been skeptical of Sam Leavitt and his actual arm itself, but he checked every box in the first throwing session for the counselors. Good rhythm, timing.

Agree on Leavitt thank we got a little to starry eyed in the playoff game. Hes not a top 10 qb nationally.
