Five-star LB Xavier Griffin has backed off of his verbal pledge to USC. 

Texas made a major move on their multi-day visit in April. I would expect an official visit to be locked to Texas soon based off that trip in the spring. 

Texas will be a player here moving forward.

I am however shocked that USC lost a commitment.

Very smart move by him to not hitch his wagon to head coach on the hot seat who’s program can’t develop defensive players to save their lives.

Sure is fun being the cool school. Reminds me of the early 2000's when I was on campus. 

Here’s a little insight via his Instgram follower’s/following. 

He’s only following Coach Sark (Coach Sark is also following him), and no other SEC coach that’s in this recruitment battle (Georgia and Bama) 🤔

This whole “if you’re committed you can’t visit anywhere else” thought process seems so foolish to me.

Especially when you see that now it seems like USC is out of the running entirely. You’d really rather him be committed while ignoring every other school, or you’ll just turn a shoulder to him?

As a parent, I wouldn’t like that at all and it won’t be surprising when they lose more recruits.

Is he a Lb prospect or possible egde? @CJ Vogel i see the DL coaches are leading the charge in this recruitment

He’s a LB that will be a 6-4, 235’ish pound versatile player in time. Can rush the passer, and be a space player.

Dia Bell talked about this in an OTF YouTube interview we will publish Friday or Saturday 

I honestly love what they're doing with the LB room. It's in much better shape than what Coach Sark inherited when he first arrived. Lots of really good talent starting to take shape there.
