Cool nugget from last night — KJ Lacey and Bo Barnes sat front row down the left field line to see Jonah Williams’ first career start on the diamond. Ended up being quite a good one for Jonah who went 2–4 at the plate with 3 runs batted in. 

Now, according to Jim Schlossnagle, Williams will be starting in left field “for the foreseeable future” after the Friday night victory against Auburn. 

That's an athlete.  If he starts pitching.... Whoa.

He was super nice to the kids after the game, signing autographs and taking pictures with everyone of them.

I hate to say this because I know it's almost sacrilegious but Williams should just stick to baseball.

Why would anybody subject to their body to years of football when baseball is an option?

We expected that to happen. He is an amazing young man from Galveston Ball . He will most probably be a Super Star on the football field also . Get ready NIL Jonah is coming for you !

I hope he gets to do both long enough for him to make an educated decision on which sport he wants to do long term. He has a bright future in both, but would live for him to concentrate in one and be as dominant as possible.

I’d hate for it to happen, but it’s the smart thing to do. 

I was there last night. The crowd was fired up when Jonah was up to bat. Buy stock in that kid, he's going to be a big time star. 

If things go very well for him the rest of the way, wonder if he’ll still play football?

Respectfully disagree...at THIS point.  

Too early to tell which is the "smart" thing to do.  He's 17.  Let's see what happens in BOTH sports, THEN make a decision.

He isn't even playing or listed on a roster right now.  I assume he is on some kind of DL because I can't find that he was cut/released. That being said, it has been a few days since I checked.

Because it is much easier to make it in pro football than pro baseball.

For those who forgot, he was the # 1 overall pick in the NFL draft and # 9 overall pick in the MLB draft and chose pro football.

Will Jonah sign an MLB contract guaranteed at over 700 million someday?

I checked again this morning and several sits now show that Ivan was placed on the 7 day injured reserved list in early April and he is even listed on the Sod Poodles roster now.  As of a few days ago he was not listed on the roster, nor was he showed up on any IL lists, except the one from the end of last season.  Let's hope it is not a recurring injury.

He seems more interested in football.  Could be he just likes to play it more.  His baseball career to date is amazing.  Hard to think he will continue at this same pace.  The scouting report will be out on him soon,  I hope he can make the necessary adjustments. to stay this hot
