Texas will be hosting an availability on Wednesday morning with a group of players.

Last week media heard from QB Arch Manning and RB Tre Wisner. Today, we are expecting some guys on the defensive side of the ball – perhaps Anthony Hill Jr., Michael Taaffe and/or Colin Simmons.

Anthony Hill Jr. points to Warren Roberson, Kobe Black, Justus Terry and Lance Jackson as youngsters standing out. 

Hill says Brad Spence has been fitting in perfectly. 

Trey Moore has been progressing. 

Hill says he is getting time off the edge and at the second level. Calling Brad Spence and Moore and little bit of a “combo”

Anthony Hill Jr. mentions Bo Barnes as someone who has latched onto his hip and been a sponge this spring. 

Hill says Neto & DJ Campbell have helped the competitive spirit. Both have been adding to the talking on the practice field. 

James Simon and Jerrick Gibson were mentioned by Hill as RBs standing out so far this spring about the young group. 

 

Colin Simmons now up. 

Simmons says he felt like he had a pretty solid freshman year, but feels like it could have been way, way better. 

Simmons isn't satisfied. That's a good place to be, mentally. 

Simmons says Zina Umeozulu has grown a lot from year one to year two. Says it will show up on the field this field. 

Colin Simmons says EDGE Lance Jackson will be a first round pick in the next three years. 

Colin Simmons was asked how many sacks he will have in 2025: “I want to break the sack record.”

Simmons says Nick Brooks, Brandon Baker and Trevor Goosby are all really talented and their play will show up on the field this season.

Simmons says his rush defense will take a step forward with LaAllen Clark’s addition to the staff. 

Simmons says LaAllen Clark switched up his pass rushing stance a little bit, he says it will help him get even faster off the line in 2025. 

When asked of youngsters who could surprise, Colin Simmons says Justus Terry and Jaime Ffrench. 

Colin Simmons has had a lot of high praise for what LaAllan Clark has done for him in his development as a player.

If he gets any quicker off the line he’ll be in the backfield by the time the ball is snapped 😆
